Do train operators

usually change their routes?

sorting out some train journeys in April and when i looked for Yeovil to Worcester a couple weeks ago it was change at Westbury

now i looking it is change at Bristol Temple Meads

I suppose it depends on the operator and the final destination.

Unless going direct Leeds to Birmingham can be a change at Manchester or Sheffield.

Depends on the service, as Frank said. Sometimes I can get a train straight from here to Bristol, other times of day you might need to change at Swindon or Cheltenham

It does depend on the time of day, as Kaz said.

Most services northwards from Yeovil Pen Mill go, via Westbury, to Bristol Temple Meads. Most GWR services from the South Coast to Worcester and Great Malvern, which you need to change into, also go via Westbury and Bristol Temple Meads. But some Worcester and Great Malvern services start from Temple Meads itself (rather than back at Brighton or Southampton), so that's why you're then told to change at Temple Meads. All depends on what service you're departing Yeovil ....
