The Chinese doctor

Postby JanB » 08 May 2017, 14:02

stuck a load of needles in me    has given me a lecture about eating/drinking and has limited me to 2 glasses of red wine with dinner - and only dinner  checked my pulse several times, before I did a toilet visit and after, checked my tongue, told me that I was a very high risk of thrombosis/stroke, heart attack as my colesterol was so high and was stunned that my doctor only told me to eat sardines.

I'm to take 500mg of aspirin at night and also to take 2 herbal tblets until I see her again in about 3 weeks.

As i'll have had the 24 hour monitor and all the other tests done by then, I'll take my new blood test results and all the other results so she can have a look at those too.

She didn't think my visit to urgencia was because of the high blood pressure or colesterol.

So that's for another day.

We came back on the A2, not been on there before, super shizzy and virtually empty. Saw some lovely ccountryside though :D :D

I'll have your wine for you - good friend that I am - so that's one problem sorted.

But just checking - has your 'regular' GP confirmed that you have a high cholesterol level as well and are you taking medication for it? Because if yes, then also check with them before you start taking the asprin maybe?

hmmmmm :?

I am already taking statins and bp tablets. I told the doc what I was taking and she'0s the one who said to take the aspirin, so we'll see what happens over the next day or so.

Interesting Ton! As long as you aren't asthmatic, or had an ulcer, the aspirin won't hurt I don't think ;)

Ria, you are too kind!! :P ;)

I do have asthma Kaz, just not here too much.

I think I'll just take 250mg of aspirin anyway.

When I saw the thread title I thought it was going to be a joke, but....

Ton, if you are going on 500mg for any length of time you might get an acid tummy. Before that starts I would talk to the doc and ask for something like omeprazole - I take lansoprazole.

And keep away from nsaids - ibuprofen, diclofenac, naproxen - those sorts of things.

Ok, but watch out for any wheezing. I haven't had an attack in years, but still avoid aspirin xxxxx
