The powers of social media

I found a travel wallet at my local home station on my way home last night containing an annual rail card, oyster card and two staff passes. Thankfully the person who had lost it had a rather unusual name so i looked it up on Facebook to see if there'd be a match. There were two so I messaged them both... one replied this morning saying it's hers and we're meeting up at Waterloo after work so I can return it to her.

She described the contents of what was in the wallet so I know it's OK.

But good old Facebook - pain at times, but really great other times

It is really useful at times isn't it! The lady must be so relieved that you got in touch :D

yes she was - esp as a return train ticket from West Byfleet to London is £20 for rush hour and she had to buy a ticket for today. She can claim that money back without a problem, but i think as of the 3rd claim she has to pay an admin fee - and it would take at least that long to replace her cards

Actually the idea of using faceslap is a damned good bit of first class lateral thinking...... and it worked.

Well done, kiddo. :D :D :D
