My niece Amelia (she'll be 11 in September) last weekend trialled out for subsequently has been selected to play for South East England under 11's basketball team. So proud of her; it's a huge achievement.

She's now playing on courts with proper 10ft high hoops vs the lower 8ft hoops they have at the junior schools and is doing so much better with those. Amelia is very tall for her age 170cm / 5'6 which makes her just a bit taller than me now

so happy :Hi: :Hi: :Hi: :Hi:

That's fantastic! :D
Well done Amelia!

Basketball was the only PE subject I enjoyed at school (well, that and aerobics in the earlier years simply because the teacher used to tape the charts off the radio every week so we exercised to that). After the first two years we could choose which sports to play in PE and I always went for basketball. There was only ever me and my friend out of the girls who opted for it, the rest of the class was boys so it got a bit rough but it was fun.
