Buona notte!

Good evening from Gardone! Having a lovely time in this beautiful hotel, the weather is a bit changeable but apparently is to get better with more sunshine and less cloud. Actually it is quite nice because it was extremely hot last July. Yesterday we went to Il Vittoriale, about a 10 minute walk away and one of the main sights on the lake, we didn't go last year as it was so hot but the temperature yesterday was perfect and we were there for several hours. Most interesting, we really enjoyed it. Link below to tell you a bit more about it.

Today we went up the lake to Limone - two hours on the "slow" boat, just relaxing and watching the beautiful scenery. Limone itself was nice, lots of steep little streets and alleys with magnificent mountain and lake scenery - but it was very busy and must be a nightmare in high season, and some majorly expensive shops  Tomorrow we plan to go to Malcesine, where they have a Saturday market, and also a cable car to a well known viewpoint, so that should be fun.

We are forecast more reliable sunshine after tomorrow, a few days lounging by the pool would be just the thing. The food is delicious, too delicious, so it will be back to bread and water when we get home
