Good morning Thursday

Postby Ally » 13 Jul 2017, 05:49

Good morning. :D

Flippin oven baking hot. 8-) 8-)

I came back from a 6km run and it was only 7.30am - all done to avoid the heat. Yeah right! I was so hot and sweaty when I got back, I stripped off by the pool (we have no neighbours  ) and used the shower. We keep towels in the pool room so I'm wrapped in one of those and having a coffee on the terrace to cool down.

Think I'll be a lazy Lulu today and lie around and read.

Have a great day everyone.

Morning Ally and everyone

rather warm here already too - and set for very high temperatures later 8-)

Done the watering, we'll be staying inside as much as possible, although I have to go to the doc's this afternoon as the rather unpleasant receptionist wouldn't let me leave a repeat prescription request yesterday. No doubt some other English person had upset her earlier

Will pop into Pingo on the way back, as they didn't have a lot of stuff in there yesterday, need wine, cat food and water.

Just might pop into the bar on the way home

Enjoy your day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Good morning Ally and Jan.

Well done, Ally - a 6 km run sounds a long way to me.

It's a lovely morning here, and I'm off for my morning walk any minute now.

Hope you all have a lovely day.

Morning you three

Ally, enjoy having a lazy day. After the rushing around and hustle and bustle of your UK trip you more than deserve it :D
Jan, good luck with the prescription; daft receptionist - I just don't get why some people are deliberately difficult when there really isn't a need. Oh and if you do pop into the bar on the way say hi to everyone ;-)
Aggers, hope you enjoyed the walk. It's a lovely day here as well but I'm stuck in the office :(

Another sort of usual / usual for me. Usual for work yes, but will be stopping off somewhere on my way home. Our local Parish Council has a few allotment 1/2 plots available and I'm interested in taking one on. I enjoy growing veg but don't really have the space in my garden so a smaller 1/2 plot would be ideal £12 a month and I more or less drive past on my way home after work so easy to quickly pop in. So going to have a look tonight and will then say yay or nay tomorrow. If I do take it on then the only thing I'd still grow at home would be what I have now in the greenhouse (tomato, cucumber, aubergine and chilli)... anything else will be grown on the allotment.
:Hi: :Hi: :Hi:

Have a lovely day all x

Morning all :D

Bright and sunny here 8-)

Enjoy your lazy day Ally.
Good luck with the prescription Jan.
My uncle always had an allotment Ria, many years ago now, but I still remember helping him pick the runner beans.

Shopping day for us, that's another week gone by. Only 4 weeks till my sister arrives.

Hope you all have a good day :D

Good morning, our day started rather early when the phone rang just after 4.30am - our former neighbour has one of those panic alarms and smoke alarms linked to a monitoring centre and we are on her contact list as we have a key. Apparently the smoke alarm was going off and they had not been able to contact her (they can talk to her through the unit in her house). So Mr Osc got up and walked up to her house while I tried her on her mobile. She didn't answer, but rang me back shortly afterwards, turns out she is away. In the meantime, Mr Osc had been in her house, all was well, he had spoken to the monitoring centre and they agreed that he could disconnect the alarm as it was probably a faulty battery. Neither of us managed to really get back to sleep, and we had an earlier start than usual for a Thursday as the children were arriving just after 8am :(

Michael had to be up at the school for 9.45 as they were going bowling, he will be back at 12.30. We are going to have a little picnic lunch out on the terrace, then Michael is back at the school for 3pm to play short tennis, then I have to collect him and bring him to a party...... 7 year olds have such an active social life  Kellie and Grandad made muffins for us to have on our picnic.

Glad it turned out to be nothing more than a faulty alarm Osc, the other doesn't bear thinking about. Michael certainly is keeping his grandparents busy

Jen, the time is just whizzing by, isn't it - I cannot believe that we're more than 1/2 way through the year. How long will your sister be with you?

Morning :)

Crikey Osc, that's a day and a half already! Thank goodness all was well though.

Beautiful day here, still not got rid of the jigsaws.
Poor lady is so apologetic, but Monday her husband was ill, then she was coming today and he's been rushed into hospital...I suspect he is long-term ill hence the need for jigsaws, whether for her or for him.

Not much doing here, have hoovered and cleaned the cloakroom so having the rest of the day off :)

Ria hope you get your allotment :)
Hope you're all having a good day

She'll be with us for a week Ria and then they're off to explore Devon and Cornwall. We're meeting up again and spending 3 days with them in London just before they go over to spend time in Italy, the Puglia region this time I think.

Well done both, Osc & Mr Osc ... at least it wasn't anything more serious. :?

Rather pleasant today; a bit of a breeze and intermittent sun. Washing out on the line.

Have finally succumbed to mounting avian pressure and purchased a large tub of 50 fat balls for a tenner. The young sparrows are delighted!

Enjoy the afternoon, all!
