Good morning Wednesday

Postby Ally » 26 Jul 2017, 04:47

Good morning. :D

Forecast hot. Surprise surprise. 8-) 8-)

David's picking me up at 8am and it's a yomping we will go.

We're going to Pizarra to climb to the Jesucristo statue. A bit like the one in Rio but without the need to fly there.

I have packed lashings of water, food and a hat for me 'ead.

We'll probably stagger into Jose's when we get back for a well deserved beer.

Have a great day everyone.

Morning Ally and everyone

Another rather warm day here too 8-)

Enjoy your yomp Ally, and the beers afterwards

Done the watering, almost watered Maria too    didn't see her sitting behind one of the trees, doing some needlework,m whilst the sheep have a munch :D

We have a large ish eucalyptus forest behind us and it's reassuring to hear the chainsaws are out and they're cutting the undergrowth down and also some of the trees.

Going into Ourique later this morning, to hopefully get Grumpy's results and to get some more netting to stop the ducks., Very effective so far :Hi: :Hi:

The huge fires are still burning further up north and there is more loss of life. Something just has to b done, no good making directives, then not enforcing them. And increase the sentencing for the culprits too.

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Morning :)
It's raining.

Good luck for the results Ton x
Good news about the trees, I should imagine eucalyptus goes up all too easily.

Enjoy your yomp Ally, look forward to the pics :)

Next door invited her neighbour round last night and cooked her trout :D
She was so pleased with it she brought it to show us, she'd cooked it whole in a foil parcel :)
Other side neighbour also popped round with cakes as Bb mowed her lawn :)

No outside plans today, I'm not daft :D
Hope you all have a good day

Morning Ally, Jan

Hope you have a good walk and the beer is worth it when you get back Ally. Jan, one of the wildfires here in France was, supposedly, started from a cigarette but thrown out of a car window. No chance of breaking drivers of that habit in France.

At 07:40 today I got up and took Mrs S to hospital, lower abdominal pains on the left side. She'd been suffering all night and I'd offered to take her to hospital at 3am but, typically, she waited till it got worse before going.

At 9am, when the doctor arrived, she threw me out to feed and water the hens and let the dogs into the garden.

Fortunately the hospital is a 3 minute drive or a 20 minute walk, so it's not half the day lost. She has her phone and will text me if she needs anything.

I'm hoping to complete the contracting for work today and I have to go over to #1 son's house and try and work out where the electrics have corroded. It was working fine when I got the main water dried up but something has furred up and shorted. Unfortunately it looks like it's behind a wall. I may have to re-wire a section of the house into a new trip box.

Then we can look at finishing the tiling in the dining room and replacing most of the plasterboard we had to rip down from the ceilings. Just in time for me to leave on Sunday for work on Monday.

Morning all :)

Have a good yomp Ally :)

Jan I hope cutting down those trees will keep you safe! (((x)))

Same here Di, think it might be a rare indoor day for me too! Glad your NDN was so pleased with her trout :D

Suff, I hope Mrs S is ok :(

Well as mentioned, it is raining here, and it looks as if it's set in for the day, so I might not be going very far ;) Zumba tonight though!

Have a good day everyone :) xx

Nice here at the moment but rain is forecast.
Taking Don to Kent and Canterbury Hospital as he has an
appointment with a cardiologist. We have been waiting for ages
for this then had a phone call yesterday to ask if he would like a
cancellation. His Doctor wonders if he would benefit from a Pace
Maker so he is going to find out today.
Be back later.

Morning all

Ally, happy yomping and enjoy that beer when you get to it.
Suff, hope Mrs S is OK and good luck with the job thing and also sorting Nr 1 Sons house; hope you figure the problem
Jan, good news re the Eucalyptus being tidied / chopped. Think they'll eventually do away with the whole lot? And poor Maria, thank goodness you spotted her in time.
Di, it's lovely to have neighbours you get on with and help each other out.
Kaz, enjoy a 'lazy' day at home.
Lissie, good luck with the appointment - fingers crossed

The weather here isn't looking promising at all, rain and wind forecast for a bit later. Just as well I don't have any plans but I really do feel for the kids on what is meant to be a summer school holiday. It's really not nice for them to be doing much :(

Another usual / usual for me today

have a good day all x

Local schools only broke up yesterday Ria, so plenty of time for it to improve :)
Wouldn't fancy the New Forest show today, I feel sorry for the stallholders.

She didn't make them Saundra, she works too hard for that, she's out of the house at 7 every morning :)

Good morning all.

It's not a good one here - it's raining and doesn't look like stopping, so it's a day in today for us.

Hope Mrs S is O.K., Suff.
