Miss Otis regrets...

...lunch is slightly delayed today.
14 years I've lived here...today was the first time someone actually fainted right in front of me due to the heat!
I left work at 1pm and was just getting to the corner of the plaza when a lady (I'd say in her late 70's) was standing there looking a bit 'confused'. I kept looking at her thinking she looked pale and by the time I got right by her she was just folding into a heap on the floor.
I bent down to attend to her..other folks in the plaza came rushing over to help too.
Someone must've called the ambulance as within a few minutes two paramedics were on the scene and (I have to say were so kind and caring to her. Yes I know that's their job but they were kindness personified.)
She'd come round by then and as they were putting her on the stretcher they asked if she could remember what happened. She said it's so hot it just got to her.
Just goes to show how the elderly and the young have to be so very, very careful in these temps.
Someone who was with the lady said she knew her well and would let me know how she is...the friend said she recognised me from sitting outside Jose's.
