What a day!!

I was just about to leave the house, to walk up to Sainsbury's, when the phone rang - it was Barclay's wanting to know if I had used my debit card in Dover this morning to pay P&O Ferries two amounts, adding up to over £350!! Well of course I hadn't, so they transferred me to the fraud department. They cancelled my card, will reimburse me, and were about to send me a new one, when he asked me again for my address, and then if I had moved house. "Not since 2012" "The address you just gave me is different to the one we have here" "But you sent me a new card a couple of years ago to this address, so how does that work?" "Sorry Madam, we can't send out a card to the address you have just given us until you go into a branch, with ID and change it"
Soooo I dug out my passport, found a bill with both our names on - it's a joint account - and went to town! Got as far as the queue in the bank, rummaged in my bag for the documents - no sign of my passport! Rang Mick in a bit of a panic, thinking I'd lost it somehow, but Mick had found it - on the shelf in our downstairs loo!! I know, dozy moo or what!!!
So it was a wasted trip to town, but at least I hadn't lost my passport after all I have to go into town again in the morning anyway, for an eye test, so will go to the bank then.
On the plus side I walked through H&M (a shortcut back from the bank ) and picked up a lovely black halterneck dress for our holiday! The label said £5, but when I got to the till it came up as £3.50! So the day wasn't all bad
