Good Morning Wednesday

Postby Suff » 30 Aug 2017, 04:11

Morning all. Sitting at CDG airport terminal 3 waiting for the plane.

I really hate being ripped off at airports and I consider CDG to be one of the worst. I didn't go to the IBIS breakfast (starts at 4am), because I wanted more sleep. But I'm hungry as I didn't really get dinner last night. So when I came in here I noticed that the non Schengen gates (UK and other non Schengen destinations), were more than the Schengen gates. So I went to the Relay and bought sandwiches, coke and some crisps (yes I know very bad but about what is on offer), then noted the prices.

When I went through passport control into the non Schengen area I went to the Relay and checked the prices. 30 - 50 cents higher on every item.....

So much for so called "duty free" areas.

I'm into Stansted on Vueling, arrive at 07:10, Stansted Express to London and then into Canary Wharf for work. Out to the Hotel at around 5-6pm and then I'm probably going to crash without food unless I stop off at a fast food place en-route.

Have a great day all.

Good morning Suff and all, it's pouring down here.

John's booked today off so we'll see what happens with the weather and then see what we do. Tom needs to start packing as he's going back to Wolverhampton on Friday night and Joe has a driving lesson shortly.

Suff, we're so ripped off at airports aren't we! I remember we were hungry at Heathrow last year and it was close to £30 for coffee and some snacky type food.
Hope you had a good flight and have eaten now!

Have a good day all!

Morning both, morning everyone :)

Airport food prices are ridiculous, but then so are motorway services, indeed anywhere there is a captive market :(

Safe travels Suff!

Jo I hope you and J have a good day, the weather here looks wet :?

Well despite the wet weather B and I are going into town, she needs to get to the bank and me to the PO! That was yesterday's plan, but by the time I'd finished faffing about with h/work it was time to go and see D ;) Zumba tonight :)

Have a good day everyone :) xx

Morning all :D

Arrived at the hotel just before 2pm yesterday, my sister and BIL got here about 45mins later. The trip up just about finished me off, I was quite happy to stay while the went off, but they were tired too so we sat in the lounge and had a nice chat. Went to Zizzi's for dinner, very nice :D

Managed to sleep quite well thanks to earplugs, hate the things but being on the busy Cromwell Road they were really needed.

Just getting ready to go down for brekkie. Think it's Borough Market today, should be okay if I find lots of places to sit.

Hope you all have a good day :D

Fog very slowly lifting and we're supposed to have a hot day. Supposed to get thunderstorms and rain yesterday, but didn't

Hope your your journey over was pain-free Suff and you've managed to get some decent breakfast.

Take it easy Jen, enjoy the market though :D

I'm weeding this morning, the estevas are showing their heads on the bank, so need to get up there and rid rid of them.

You live a busy work life, Suff!

"I remember we were hungry at Heathrow last year and it was close to £30 for coffee and some snacky type food." Jo! faints...

You sound like you're in for a nice day Jen and enjoy the zumba Kaz. What are estevas, Jan?

Son's back is still painful but less so than yesterday, so the physio did some good. He's booked in for another sesion then the chiropractor; apparently he has a bulging disc which doesn't sound nice. We'll get it right though.

Off blackberrying soon and this afternoon apparently I am driving MrsC and her sister to go look at sofas. Which I WILL enjoy, I am told!

Have a good day everyone.
