Good morning Tuesday!!

Postby Osc » 16 Oct 2017, 23:39

I don't think I've ever started a morning thread before :D Of course, it is still Monday here in Washington. Our WH tour pass arrived this morning, hooray, so we had to go and have it printed off. After that, we spent most of the rest of the day at Newseum, a museum dedicated to.......guess.......news  It was very interesting and we were there for four hours. We stopped off for something to eat on the way back, every evening so far we have eaten in. We're quite tired after walking over four miles yesterday and more walking today, so taking it easy this evening. Our WH tour is at 8am in the morning, which means a very early start :x we have to meet the Irish embassy guy 15 minutes beforehand. It's Mr Osc's birthday, so a nice special day for him.

Sounds great Osc and happy birthday to Mr Osc. :D :D :D :D

It's forecast rain here (we've had not a drop since May and really need it) but it just doesn't feel or look like rainy weather so we'll see. It's warm.

Loads to do today and work 4 - 9.

I met David for a couple of beers last night and we've decided on another operation Norway! Except this one's in France!

Have a great day everyone.

Good morning osc & ally.
Still breezy but some blue sky now showing.
Shopping this morning and dancing tonight. Did not go out last night. Didn't fancy driving on the M6 in the very strong winds.
Have a good day everybody

Morning everyone

Lovely and cool, and fresh smelling this morning. We had rain :Hi: :Hi: :Hi: at 1.58 until 2.05 during the night - dear me, did that come down - almost an inch    Terrific thunderstorm too

Happy Birthday to Mr Osc - have a great day over there and enjoy the tour of the White House.

At least the rain dampened down the fires up north, but again, most of them started on purpose. Well, you can't get 303 fires to light on their own, can you? :cute: :cute: :cute:   So many people dead, so many houses and livelihoods gone. Hopefully, this time, the government will enforce the law - but I doubt it.

Pootling for us, more wet stuff is forecast, so will that will limit what we can do. I really should do that ironing, we'll see. Don't have a lot of umpf at the moment

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Good Morning all,
A lot cooler today but bright.
Not doing much just a mooch round the shops.
Getting excited as Klara (grandaughter) has only 7 weeks
to go until the baby arrives.
Have a good day :D

I posted this earlier but it has disappeared into space!!

Morning all

Happy birthday to Mr Osc - hope you have a fab day; and enjoy that WH tour; looking forward to hearing all about it
Ally, fingers crossed you do get some rain; I think most of southern Europe could do with a few days of steady rain. As for Project France, suspect that'll be in the French Alps? That'll be fabulous
Jan, fab news re the rain in your neck of the woods and I really really hope that the authorities find the people that lit the fires and throw the book at them. They should round them all up and release them to the people that lost everything and leave them to deal with it - that would be justice served
Lissie, Cruiser and Kaz enjoy your respective days pootling about

Usual work day but meeting up with a email friend this evening. My boss used to be on the board of Crisis Action, a large charity. The assistant of the head of the charity is based in NY and we used to have quite a lot of email dealings before my boss resigned from the board. J - the assistant - is now in the UK and we're meeting up for a drink (and maybe dinner) after work; after all these years will be lovely to put face to a name.

Have a lovely day all x

Good morning all, it's sunny here but windy and quite cold.

Billy had a two hour walk this morning, I really needed to get out and blow some cobwebs away so we just kept on walking (I felt like Forrest Gump, except he ran). Mother in law has gone out to meet someone she used to work with. Not sure what time she'll be back but she's not usually very long. We took her out for dinner last night, we went to the Pie Factory at Tipton again. Clean plates from me, John, Joe , Tom and Shannon and hardly anything touched on her plate, plus she spent a fair few minutes dissecting the fact that the waitress hadn't given her any cutlery (John had fetched her some). Oh well, the rest of us had a lovely evening. It was such a long day of doing pretty much nothing else though that Joe went to bed just after 9 and me and John followed him up at 10. That's unheard of! I'm rarely in bed before 1am, John goes around 12.30 and Joe's often up later than both of us!

Osc, it all sounds wonderful. There are some absolutely amazing museums there aren't there. Enjoy the White House, and Happy Birthday to E!! That should be a really memorable one :D

Ally, I saw a picture of Norway the other day and it made me wonder if you'd be off on another adventure. Looking forward to hearing all about this one!

Ria, hope you have a lovely time tonight!

Kaz, the washing's out here too. I'm hoping the still strongish winds will help dry it pretty quickly.

Have a good day all!

Morning all :D

Dull but very still here.

Osc Happy Birthday to Mr.Osc, sounds like you're both in for a great day :D :D

Enjoy your evening Ria.

Blimey Jo, your MIL sounds miserable, how long will she be with you?

Don't expect to hear about any aids today, I've requested online from the British Red Cross, but it can take 3 days for them to reply. If we need anything from town E will have to hop on the bus. Thursday will be okay, I can use a chair/scooter at the big shopping centre where M&S is and Tesco will reserve one for me if I phone an hour ahead. Definitely shades of Madge in Benidorm

Have a good day :D
