It looks hopeful.

The woman from Social Services came to assess Don as i had asked if it was possible for some help toward a walk in shower to make life easier for him.
I answered all her questions as Don has a job getting the right words out since the strokes he has had have affected his speech.
I must admit i told a few porkies (only a few)
I told Don to struggle more than normal getting out of his chair and walking etc.
The outcome is that she has put us forward for a disability grant or failing that some
help towards paying.
Fingers crossed although she said it will be a long time before we know anything.
In the mean time she is getting more grab rails fitted in the bathroom for him.
I must have done something right!!!

sometimes, needs must!

Fingers crossed you don't have to wait too long to hear from them and that the grab rails are of help in the meantime x

Absolutely - similarly with telling Don to visibly struggle a bit. it's the only way to get things to happen sometimes. Hope you get some good news from Social Services soon, Lissie.

Well done Lissie, you probably didn't really tell porkies, they always say you must stress your worst day. Good luck, hope you don't have to wait too long x
