I managed Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day without any TV and almost no Internet. I only had my phone so the web was just a quick in and out to check emails and peek at VV - absolutely nothing else.

Got in trouble. I told the truth about the Christmas meal. The choices were one from three each of starters, main and dessert - basically a fixed menu. The cost of our table was over £1,000 and that was before we bought our own drinks - none were included as part of the meal deal. So when I was asked I said that it was OK, but no more. Well blow me down for not going all 'marvellous', 'wonderful' or 'excellent'. It wasn't, it was a pub meal at five times the normal price.
The tune soon changed when it was noticed that I had only drunk lime and soda and would Uncle Frank mind taking X and Y to .... and maybe Dad, back home a bit later.
Families eh? Can't live with 'em, can't do away with them if you can't do the jail time.
PS To be fair to my taxi 'fares' they didn't think the meal was any great shakes, either.

Hospital! Spent nearly all day Wednesday (today) in various medical facilities - doctor's, Minor Injuries then A&E. See Medical board re DVT.
