Gloucester city centre has its regular "eccentric" characters. There is the fella who stands at the cross - where the four 'gate' streets meet - and belts out his own versions of pop songs and hymns, beer in hand.
Another regular is a very dapper little black guy, dressed usually in yellow trousers, a smart shirt, waistcoat, and jaunty yellow cap, who pulls a shopping trolley whilst quoting bible passages, and praying aloud! He's perfectly harmless, but a tad alarming until you get used to him
Today I was walking through M&S when he came trundling towards me, slowed right down, looked me straight in the eyes, and declared "Sweet angel of truth!" then smiled and trundled on his way
It does get a bit odd here sometimes, in a League of Gentlemen kind of way
