Advance notice .....

Postby TheOstrich » 01 Mar 2018, 19:18

Ossie has just asked me to give you advance notice that the Ostrich's footie blog for this Saturday is ..

P --- P

In view of the weather conditions, the bird wouldn't want you to have to make an unnecessary journey from here to the "Shed" board ..... You might, however, just find him on Saturday afternoon perched disconsolately on top of an ice-bound goalpost in some totally snow-covered field or other - if you see him, give him a hot cuppa and a biscuit. ;)

Speaking of unnecessary journeys, an unholy Twitter row has broken out between Concord Rangers and Truro City over the former's refusal to travel to Cornwall yesterday for an evening match. A crazy example of match scheduling in any event - Concord Rangers are based on Canvey Island! Truro said: "but our pitch is quite playable". I mean, let's face it, it's only 308 miles by coach - each way! Crackers!!

Concord cited the weather forecasts, and there are rumours that their coach company said "no way", but they may be in breach of some obsure regulation or other for not clearing it with the Football League first. If so, a fine or points deduction could potentially follow. In Non-League footie on-line circles, this will most certainly run and run ...

Oh well, it's probably for the best. Ostriches don't do well in blizzards! :D I look forward to the resumption of reports from Osfooty.com. :D
