I’ve decided to treat myself to a Fitbit and think I’ve settled on the the Fitbit Alta HR.

Does any one have one or would recommend anything different?

Thank you

I've been using a cheap version that belonged to Mick for a while - it tracks my steps, exercise, heart rate and sleep pattern. I'm getting an actual Fitbit, a Charge 2, from Amazon for my birthday ;)

It gets a bit addictive, especially when you get to your 10k steps and it buzzes in triumph :P

I'll have a look at that one then Kaz, thanks

That does a bit more than I need, I'd just get myself in a muddle

 I only use the steps and heart rate mostly ;) The sleep thing got a bit embarrassing, as I am always moaning about sleeping badly when according to that I don't!

I have the Alta HR and as Kaz says - it's quite addictive. And I think the Alta and Alta HR are now more or less same price?

A colleague has a cheaper version that works just as well, but for some reason doesn't like to our medical plan and we get benefits from that if we achieve certain goals (free coffee and movie ticket once a week).

What I did do though was change the strap, the plastic one got a bit mucky and sticky so I got a leather one on Amazon for £7.99 - so much happier with it

Now that’s interesting Ria. I really like the Alta HR but not the colours. I really wanted the pale pink one, but that’s only available on the higher priced models. But, I saw on Amazon you can buy new straps for them and I wondered if that would work and obviously it does :D

Fit bit recommendations:

Don't bother.

Check your calorie in v calories out (exercise): via food labels / Internet: free.

Coloured watch straps are dirt cheap for 16, 18, 20, 22 and 22mm bands.

Forget the 10,000 steps myth

Buy an alternative for £25 with all the functkons.

Spend your saved £109.98 on a weekend away.

Or just live, and take control.
