Christmas Concerts

Just had an email to say bookings will start tomorrow morning for the concerts to be given in the UK by Andrei Rieu. He is a violinist who has his own orchestra.
Have watched the recording of the one he did at Wembley last year several times.
We were thinking of going to the one in Manchester. But decided to give it a miss as it is five days before Christmas. Tickets start at £49.00 each. There is the problem of parking and getting to and from the Arena.
Went there many years ago to watch Torvill and Dean just after they had won the Olympics.

It is April FFS!

I would be against booking a Christmas event based on that alone, no matter who it was, even the Beach Boys or the Eagles.

Give us a break you leeches.

Tickets are expensive these days, aren't they? Things get booked a long time in advance - I tried to book some tickets for a comedy thing (Mrs Brown's Boys) a few years ago, but it was fully booked in either Brum or Cardiff many months in advance!

We got a text from a friend the other day asking if we were interested in the Dublin concert in December (I think Cruiser needs some time on the naughty step for daring to use "that" word in April ;) )

Osc,
How long do I have to stay there?
Should have said concerts in December. Must remember what I say in future.
We have decided not to go. There is a coach trip to Birmingham with one night in a hotel. But it would be very tiring.

Nah, I'm as grumpy an old git as any grumpy old git can be.

Hallowe'en costumes in May, bonfire fireworks in June or Easter eggs in August anyone?

When we put the clocks back in October can we go back to 1945?

Cruiser, you are on the norty step till December 25. Food parcels will be on their way. ;)

Mrs A and I are great fans of Andrei Rieu., and we booked up for one of his concerts at the NEC Birmingham last Christmas.
When we then realised that the show wouldn't finish until around midnight, and, not now having a car, we didn't fancy the
problems we might have getting back home at that time, we presented our tickets to some friends whom we knew would
appreciate them - and they did!
