The Tour de Yorkshire... arghh!

It will pass the end of my road on Sunday, about 50m away, so the road is closed from midnight Saturday till 18:30 Sunday. The closed road is the only way in and out for us in our little private estate so if we do not want to be trapped we will have to park off site. No problem, there are roads nearby and a couple of ginnels to walk through to get to them.

Think again!

I have just been round to the Co-op and all the local side roads are coned and with police 'No Stopping' signs. It has to be an attempt by the council to keep traffic flowing along the sides of the route. Ah well, it's all in a good cause. ;)

You're a lucky beggar, then. No doubt they've been out working overtime repairing all the potholes on that road .....

Tour de ****ing Yorkshire my ****ing ****! (I'm not a fan!)

This is Yorkshire, not (*&^ing France! Cote de Whatsit? Tete de la Course? And what's a peleton when it's at home? The two blokes who run the thing were dressed in identical blazers, shirts and trousers the other day, it looked like a gay wedding!

Actually, it's not that bad. Like Ossie says, at least some of the potholes get filled in where the route is. My main objection is the completely over the top coverage by local TV news, who treat it like the second coming.
