The Brum meet.

Another fab day with a bunch of cracking people. Making it a simple day out instead of a stopover worked really well.... or it sort of did.

There is something about mee and travel. The train in was delayed so I was late, but coming home - arghh.

The train was 57 mins lat into New St and never made up the time to Leeds. It was rammed and the seat reservations cancelled, so a afree-for-all. There were standing passengers till it started to thin out after Derby and Sheffield. Got into Leeds almost bang on midnight and home about 12:40.

Still, a really good day in Brum. Lots of laughs, as usual, and a good wander round the place with a beer down by the canals. I am hoping that some of the camera owners put some pics up... especially the "nail bar" ones.

I was wondering about your train home. Was it to do with the heat? I know it was reported a week or so back that trains would be slowed down, mine was on time but then it'd stop if it went any slower anyway.

It was so good to see you and everyone, I'm already looking forward to next time :D

Jo, it was a staffing problem at Bristol and the poor sods on the train (from Plymouth) had to sit there and take it. They were fuming as they were not even told the real reason just given a generic "this delay is due to unforeseen operational issues".

Yup. next year and on...

I suppose the only positive is that at least the train wasn't cancelled :?
