I was brought up on that Lady's music, bought her records and then played them till the grooves wore through

Such a sad loss. I'm not a huge fan of female vocalists but Aretha Franklin was one of the few that I love. What a voice she had, she could really stop you in your tracks couldn't she.

I wasn't really aware of her until Scritti Politti sang about her in 1985 though.
