We were at a funeral on Wednesday, a well known dance teacher over many decades here, aged 84. I knew his wife was his second marriage, with quite an age difference between them. Only got the full story on Wednesday - apparently he met C when she was 15 and one of his dance pupils, and he was mid-40s, with a wife and children. C moved in with him when she was 18. He lost his family, wife, children and siblings except for one brother, they broke all contact with him, plus many parents withdrew their children from his dance classes. We didn't know them then, the scandal must have been huge. They moved away from Dublin and started again. However, over 40 years later they were still together and completely devoted to each other, they had no children of their own.
