Bus driver attacked and robbed.

The ASDA is a hub for five local bus routes so there are always buses standing there. On my way I had to pull over to let a couple of police vehicles pass and when I got there they were with other police and an ambulance surrounding a bus - this at 5 pm!

Appparently the driver was sat reading a paper on his break when a couple of thugs kicked the door in, dragged him from his cab, gave kim a good going over then ran off with his money bag and till. Some witnesses said they had knives and that is why they were not stopped.

Hopefully someone has phone footage to help catch the b'stards.

Adel is supposed to be a safe leafy suburb...

A woman was in one of the bus shelters being seen to by a medic, she looked to be in shock; and a call went out from ASDA security asking about phone footage.

The driver had not been stabbed, though he had taken a good beating.

It is only a few weeks since the Co-op, only 500m away, was robbed at knifepoint.

That's disgraceful. Let's hope they get their collars felt.

I'm not the hugest fan of the surveillance society, but with any luck, maybe CCTV somewhere has got images of them.

Yes, Adel is not exactly Chapeltown or Seacroft. Just goes to show it can happen anywhere.

Yes. Or rather, What a state we have become. It is obvious that there must be a reason for it.

My opinion is that, as a nation, we have become far too soft in dealing with criminals. If punishments were more severe,
and if prison life was made something to be dreaded, then perhaps we might see some reduction in crime. Why don't our
Government do something positive in this regard? Have we, perhaps, become a nation of criminals? It makes one think.

It's awful Frank. Poor bloke.

I haven't seen the footage but apparently a traffic warden was attacked in Birmingham recently, and there was horrible footage of someone having their bike stolen in the centre of Manchester recently.
