Heard last night that Tom's older brother Jimmy had been blue-lighted to hospital and was in a bad way. We planned on visiting him tonight as we had organised to have the kids today....his wife was at his bedside and this morning at 4am she phoned to ask Tom to go to the hospital, it looked very bad.

He's been there ever since, Jimmy has COPD anyway, but he is also a heavy drinker and this morning Tom messaged to say he had kidney and liven failure, and he's now contracted sepsis. I didn't want to go in as he already had at least 4 people in the room with him, Tom, John (the oldest brother), Eileen, his wife, and her two sisters. Anyway I popped up this afternoon, it's awful sitting at home waiting.....he's in and out of sleep (consciousness?) now and again he thrashes about, probably in loads of pain.

No idea how long this will continue although it doesn't seem like it will be a positive outcome, it's just a waiting game...
