Good morning everybody.

It was lashing it down with strong winds just before I got up. The rain has stopped now and a little bit of blue sky is showing.

Having our boiler serviced this morning. Using a local firm. Said they would be her at 9.00 a.m.

Will go shopping this afternoon

Have a good day everybody.

Morning everyone

Gorgeous morning 8-)

Have a good flight Kaz and a lovely holiday :Hi:

General pootling today, bit of weeding, some more spraying of weeds. My freesias in the garden have grown at an angle  so will be propping them up. Will separate them when they've flowered and put some bulbs elsewhere in the garden.

Also dead chuffed as my calla lilies are flowering for the first time in 3 years :D Bought some narcissi bulbs yesterday, so they will go in the garden, under one of the trees. Might have to wait until we have some rain, as the ground will be rock hard

Chicken stir fry tonight :D

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Good morning all, it's dry with sunny spells (after a lot of rain earlier on) and very windy.

Joe's got an extra shift today so he's out, Tom's gone into Birmingham to meet up with Shannon so it's just me and Bill until mid-afternoon. I shall take advantage of no one being under my feet when I'm hoovering! I also need to meal plan and do a shopping list.

Ally, that's good to hear! I've only know of one other person who's been (and also loved it) and that's Shannon's friend who has kindly sent me some tips and photos of places to eat and things to do. I've spent hours over the last few days looking into what to do. I've booked a restaurant for dinner one night which looks nice. We were talking last night of where to go later in the year and I fancy Berlin or Krakow while John's first choice is Paris, I can't say that Paris has ever appealed to me but I'll look into it.

Kaz, have a wonderful time! I tried to post on Facebook to you earlier but everything I do on there comes up with an error message.

Have a good day all!

Morning all

Kaz, have just the most amazing time and bring back some sunshine.
I went to Prague absolute eons ago (would have been 1994 or so) and loved it... we went in December and it was oh so very bitter cold but still an amazing time.
Jo, Krakow is very interesting as well; well worth a weekend trip. Same as you Paris doesn't really hold much appeal and Berlin is a fab one for summer (or Christmas markets later in the year?)

Jan, Calla lillies need quite specific feeding to get them to flower; have a look here: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/orname ... plants.htm

Bit of a rush for me this morning; had to drop Eli at the vet as he's having a CT scan done on both front paws. Traffic getting from the vet to the train station was a nightmare; but eventually made it and got to work with not too bad a delay. Leaving at 4.30 so I can be home in time to pick him up again and then meeting up with a friend for dinner tonight; will be lovely to just natter and chill

Have a lovely day all, enjoy all the bits and bobs you're up to xx

Good morning all, it's raining....no, sunny....no, raining.....sunny.....windy with it all. We have a leak in tbe bathroom again over the shower, so Edward has been on to the builder to suggest taking off the slates to check the felting, take down the ceiling, get any and all leaks fixed once and for all and get the ceiling redone. It is the only problem we have had here.

Off to collect Kellie soon and Michael will be here later, so usual busy Thursday. Jo, we went to Prague for NYE a few years ago, it was bitterly cold but it is a lovely city.

Sympathies over your bathroom leak, Osc - they are devilish to sort out. When I worked in quite an old building in Beaminster, we got a leak right in the middle of the upstairs main room directly above my work-station. The trouble was when the wind was blowing from a certain direction, it was propelling water up under the eaves into the attic, the felting was very worn, and the rainwater was running across the attic floor until it found a way down - the light fitting! It was incredibly difficult to stop and I don't think it ever got satisfactorily sorted.

Have a great holiday, Kaz. I'm sure we'll all promise to be good while you're away and not come to blows over Brexit! :cute:

Currently, we are stuck in the house for the duration - we are having our kitchen cupboards refurbished / repainted by a local craftsman. I had mentally budgeted £15,000 for a full kitchen replacement, but we've gone for a new fridge/freezer and a new built-in double oven, £1,000-ish, and the repaint. The paint's only costed £50 so far!

Morning all :D

One minute raining, the next sunshine :?

Safe flight, have a lovely holibobs Kaz.
We spent 5 days in Prague a few years ago. It was a bit like straying into a fairy tale, very Gothic, we loved it.
Hope you get the leak sorted Osc.

Shopping day for us, well M&S anyway. Our big Tesco is still closed, winds have been too fierce this week to allow much repair to the roof. Luckily the food cupboard is quite well stocked as we do tend to buy in bulk when regular items are reduced and there's always the smaller Manston store, but if it stays closed for much longer we might be forced to shop elsewhere...…..disaaaaster    Seriously, I feel very sorry for some of the workers, apparently all those on zero hours aren't getting paid so I'm sure they are desperate to see it reopen.

Have a good day :D

Well we're here, it's really warm, and the villa is great :) We're really tired though, we were up at 4am and Chris at 2am. We found Lidl just round the corner, have eaten and are having a quiet evening 8-)
