Good news!

Tom had an interview yesterday for a teacher training course for the next academic year. He only found out about the interview on Monday afternoon after applying over the weekend and was told to prepare a presentation and also plan a lesson which he'd have to then take with a group of pupils, he had to work hard to put it all together in two days along with work his shifts at McDonalds.
He's been offered a place on the course this morning
It's one of these school-based courses rather than spending time in university (although they can, if they need, use the resources at Derby University) and the main training school is John Taylor High near Burton On Trent, which makes my Duranie heart happy (me and my friend desperately wanted to go to that school back in the 80s ) so he'll be there for training sessions but he'll be allocated a school where he'll work for the year.
He's opted to teach History in a secondary school but on the course they also spend a week in a primary school.
That's him sorted anyway!
