Grey here but warm. Should be mid 20's today, which makes working outside lovely

I've done all the watering, letting Grumpy have a sleep. As it is cooler, we can do a lot of stuff outside although there is not a lot of weeding, as most of them have died already. But I can find things to do

Popping down to the bar later, to take down all the recycling and will have a beer or two. Be rude not to and a lot of people do just that - collet their post and don'y even have a coffee

I'm hoping it won't pour down anyway, as I could do with a good walk this morning - into town first, then up to see D.

More drama at WW yesterday, as Abi is leaving. She wants to buy a house, with her OH, so found a job that pays better We're apparently getting a new leader, but who knows

We are off to see MrsC's aunt this afternoon. She's still stuck in a council home in Horbury. Still, look on the bright side she's free of indigestion for the first time in donkey's years. Which is a bit of a verdict on her brother's cooking.
Yesterday I got a request from our daughter to help out by taking a lot of cardboard boxes to the tip. They have had their loft boarded out and a lot of stuff that was in the garage is now in the loft, but a lot of old packing stuff was left over. But it wasn't just cardboard boxes it was what was in them. Old paint tins, plastic wrapping, old books, candles and light bulbs. One of which was broken, as I found out. Never mind, I didn't bleed that much. I should have just not bothered to try and separate the stuff but just chucked it all in the non-bagged household waste skip. That sort of defeats the recycling aspect though.
Not a bad day here so far, warmish but dull.

New windows will make such a difference Saundra. If you have time between now and the housing man coming maybe go online to see what types of windows are available and then ask if you can chose what you want; or does everyone have to have the same style. I agree the ones with a little fan light are fab!

Kaz, that's a bit of a pain re WW, fingers crossed the new leader is nice and the venue and hours remain the same; unlike here where everything changed and moved around.
Jan, I remember you saying last year when I was there how many people just take the bar for granted as the local post office and don't support them when they are there - that's just bang out of order. At a minimum at least buy a coffee!
Ouch Crommers, that must have hurt and could have been a lot more serious - well done though for going to the effort of separating and recycling. And LOL on the brother's cooking comment

Well a bit of a dull day here; they said to expect rain but so far it's still dry. We could do with it though.

Morning all, never got around to posting yesterday. It is a miserable day here, been raining since early, after a pleasant weekend. Kellie has a great time yesterday, SIL’s sister took her to the beach and she had a lot of fun with her cousins and other children. Needless to say she was well ready for bed when she got back!

Kellie has gone to school this morning and will be collected by her childminder. I will pick her up later and bring her to her speech therapy, then back here where we will give her dinner. The others are due to land about 5.10pm and at the moment the plan is for them to collect her on her way home, but that is flexible depending on whether their flight is on time or not. If they are delayed we can bring her home. In the meantime, I need to tidy around and pack all Kellie’s stuff. It has been lovely to have her, she has been so very good.......but as has been said before, there is a reason why we have children when we are young!

Morning all

It's been raining here, think it's forecast to continue on and off all day definitely missing the Turkish sunshine.

We finally got out to do some shopping yesterday. Drove along the clifftop afterwards and would love to have had a stroll, but my ankle is still sore. Not nearly as bad as when we got back last week, then I couldn't walk without a stick, but after walking round 2 shops decided not to overdo it.

I need to tidy around and pack all Kellie’s stuff. It has been lovely to have her, she has been so very good.......but as has been said before, there is a reason why we have children when we are young!

We say that after every visit from the boys Osc. Tiring enough with one, but three very lively boys, nuff said

A trip to the hospital for physio at 1.30 today, a delivery expected from Sainsbury's later this afternoon and that's about it for today.

Osc and Jen, in this part of the world we have a local BBC news program called Look North.
One of the presenters is called Harry Gration. He will be 69 in October. His wife is called Helen, she's 51.
Last year they travelled to Cyprus so she could get IVF treatment. She is now 20 weeks pregnant.
I know it is their life to live but blimey, what are they thinking?
Helen Gration says that she "wasn't ready to give up on motherhood".
Well good luck with it. By the time the child is 11 she will be 62 and her husband will be 80.
It's a bit mad, and maybe a bit selfish as far as I can see.

I agree with you - the poor kid with geriatric parents by the time he or she is a teenager! No way would I have the stamina or patience to raise a little one now My brother-in-law's sister went to Cyprus for IVF in her late 40's, and now she's a permanently exhausted mum of twin boys aged 9, one of whom has some educational special needs, and she's only a few years younger than me. She used donor eggs, and at 50 that Helen must have too, so not even biologically her children - why not just adopt? Goodness knows there are enough unwanted children crying out for a loving home

Afternoon all, it's pouring down here but it's given me chance to sit down and post.

Honestly don't know where the time has gone the last few days, today hasn't been quite so bad but yesterday for some reason I didn't have a minute, the only time I sat down was when I hitched a lift off Joe when he was going to Amanda's and I asked if he'd drop me in Stafford on his way (he drives straight through there) because something needed taking back to B&Q.

Crommers, that's crazy! I agree that it's very selfish and I just looked them up and they already have 16 year old twin sons!
