Those nice people at BT ....

…. have redesigned and upgraded their email layout. I've just been subjected to a 51 second video extolling its virtues before logging in.

And yes, it looks all new and shiny. Just one problem, though. You can't actually read any of the emails ….

I have "chatted" with Ali on BT Chat and he says it will take 12 hours for them to revert my email back to its original layout.

Kaz, Where's Mick when you need him?

It's one of the reasons I use an email client to download them to computer. No layout changes, no ads and no emails from the companies themselves as I have marked them as spam. ;)

Still unresolved. Escalated to the Level 2 Team apparently, whatever that means. It shouldn't be rocket science to revert back to the original platform, but we are talking BT here ….

I am promised a telephone call tomorrow between 5:30 and 7:30. My past experience is there's only a slim probability of that happening ……

May start to migrate emails away from BT to MSN as a host.

Ossie, I can recommend gmx.co.uk and zoho.com as alternatives to the big boys.

I particularly like gmx as it is clean and clear - no ads.

Also, if you want to download emails to your computer you could try EssentialPIM. The free version has email, calendar, tasks / appointments and notes.

Thanks for that, WM - I'll investigate.
