Good Morning Wednesday!!

We have just had the most tremendous thunderstorm here in the Blackmore Vale. Came on very quickly around midnight, the thunder was a continuous rumble and the sky was lit up like a galaxy of paparazzi had just spotted George and Amal Clooney!

Absolutely bucketed it down for 10 minutes, which will more than have refilled the water butt 8-) , and then the storm moved away northwards. On the back end of it, the lightning was if anything even more intense, jagged white streaks continuously illuminating the clouds. Quite a dramatic 20 minutes or so. :D

Hope you all have a good day!

Same here!

It woke me up almost dead on 3 am and it is just thunder and sheet lightning on and on and on.

Very high up and slow moving with hardly any wind but lashings of rain.

Morning everyone

Sunny here too 8-)

Safe journey to Michelle Ally x

Normally a shopping day today, but because of the heat, we're going tomorrow, when it's cooler, supposedly ;) So general pootling and we're cutting down a cyprus tree in the back garden. Never liked it and it's too close to the gas bottle store, so down it comes :Hi:

We had a few rumbles of thunder yesterday afternoon, but nothing else :? <The far east side of the country was supposed to get it.

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Morning all

A few people posting on Facebook as well about thunder storms but either I slept like a log (which would be very unusual) or it missed where I live. Although one person that posted lives about 6 miles from me :? :? :?

Have to laugh (not) - on the train this morning and they're already announcing a revised time table for tomorrow due to the hot weather. Now most commuters won't have the chance to stay at home because of the weather so it's going to me the same amount of people on less trains in really hot weather? Go figure that one. Surely it's time they replaced the tracks with materials that will withstand cold and heat?

Ally, safe travels to Michele for today and have a wonderful time together
Jan, hope the tree isn't too big - too hot for hard work outside

Another usual / usual for me today.

Good morning all.

It's bright and sunny here, but we had a good old thunder storm during the night, and the garden looks well-watered now.

No plans for going anywhere today just a day of rest!

Hope you all have a pleasant day.

Morning all :D

Bright, sunny and hot, hot, hot 8-) No thunderstorms here, we had that last week, no rain forecast until Saturday.

We've got the boys from tomorrow through until Sunday so it's weekly shopping a day early for us this week. Poor E, he's such a creature of habit it will throw him off completely

Have a good day :D

Good morning all, it's another hot one here.

We had an amazing storm last night at around 1am, Joe somehow managed to sleep through it  The humidity was awful this morning when I walked Billy, the air felt so heavy. It's not much better now actually, just a few degrees hotter and the sun's shining. Must take some paracetamol as I can feel a headache starting.

Joe texted me while he was out yesterday, asking if I could get him a doctors appointment as he has some strange bites on his legs. Amanda's Mom had looked and told him to get them checked out. He sent me a photo of one and it looked like a tick bite. It took a fair bit of persuading to get him an appointment even though I explained that he has an impaired immune system. Anyway eventually an appointment for 9am this morning was found.
The GP he saw didn't know what it was and called another GP in to take a look, Joe said that the fact he has a number of the bites confused them. Although they thought they looked like tick bites they'd only expect there to be one. He was sent for a blood test at Cannock hospital which was surprisingly done straight away (I'd gone down with him and was doing some shopping so when he called and said he was walking over to the hospital I said I'd meet him there when I'd been to a couple more shops but 10 minutes later he called again and was just leaving the hospital) and he's been given a 21 day course of antibiotics.

Safe journey to Michele, sending lots of love to you all - your Dad will love having you both there xx

Have a good day all!

Good morning from the high seas! We had a wonderful two days in St Petersburg, very busy but worth it, it is a beautiful place. Today we have a sea day which is good, because we had two very early morning starts in Russia and need a day of rest. We are really having a lovely time - today we have been to two talks already, I've done a little shopping as they had a Russian bazaar before we get to Germany and taxes go up again. Most of the prices are :o  but I did find a couple of little Christmas tree ornaments at €10 each. I also bought pendants fashioned on Faberge eggs as Christmas presents for Miss Osc and my sister, last year I bought them presents in Murano in Italy, put them away carefully, promptly forgot about them and found them again in March  so that will probably happen this time too 8-) We are thoroughly enjoying ourselves and have met some lovely people. Right, next is the classical guitar concert, and today we think we will have afternoon tea in the ballroom. It's a hard life!! Hope everyone is well xx
