Good Morning Thursday

Postby JanB » 08 Aug 2019, 07:29

Morning everyone

Grey and misty start to the morning. It didn't clear up until 4.00 yesterday, ut today is supposed to be better and warmer.

Watering done and Grumpy will make a start on filling in under the roof tiles, to make it watertight, as we're expecting rain  tomorrow  The north has already had some, which helped put the big fires out.

I'll be pootling in the garden, digging up some weds from the "lawn". Well, more a chop their heads off, as the ground is rock hard  I'm going to re-pot some plants that are in the garden, but not doing so well. One is being eaten

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Morning Jan, morning all

Jan, it's really bonkers where you are weather wise. Although saying that, we apparently have two weather warning for our neck of the woods - lots of rain tomorrow and strong winds on Saturday. Summer is determined to not happen it seems.

Another usual / usual for me today - ended up not having work drinks last night but met up with Nadine instead.

Have a lovely day all xx

Good morning all, it's sunny and quite warm here.

I'm just having coffee before I mow the lawns, there're a couple of loads of washing too. Joe was supposed to be driving Amanda and a couple of her friends to Manchester Airport this morning but thankfully one of their Dads has offered to drive them which is a relief. It's a horrible drive up there, only about 60 miles on the M6 but it can take around 3 hours thanks to accidents on a daily basis, neverending roadworks and sheer congestion. In all honesty they'd have been better getting a train from Stafford to Manchester and then a train or tram from the station to the airport.

Ria, Summer's been pretty decent here. I can only think of a day or two when Billy's missed a walk and I really want to get to Ikea one evening but it's a shame to go when the weather's so nice for an evening walk so I'm waiting for it to rain so that I can go

Have a good day all!

It's been really odd here, warm(ish) but usually relatively overcast and just enough rain that I've hardly had to water at the allotment. But in the evenings there is a really nippy wind in the air that makes sitting outside not very pleasant. September usually is a lovely month so I'm keeping fingers crossed for that :D

Morning all, it is a nice morning here, I must say that our summer has not been bad at all after a slow start. We got back from Wicklow around 10pm last night after a busy but lovely day. SIL left for work at 7.30am yesterday and Miss Osc at 9.30 to come here to Howth and put in a full day in her office. Michael and Kellie had tennis in the morning, then we brought them to their favourite cafe in Wicklow for lunch, after which we went bowling. We then went back to the house, and the sun finally came out about 4pm, so off we went to the beach for a while, where Kellie had a ball running in and out of the sea - Michael is not mad about the water but then the two of them had fun digging a trench in the sand. When we got back to the house, Edward cooked dinner while I showered Kellie - she had sand everywhere you could imagine  SIL got home around 7.45pm and Miss Osc didn’t get home until after 8.30.

I have two machine loads on the line, and want to change the bed. I also need to post a form off to our insurance company, we renewed our house insurance last week but they phoned yesterday to ask why I had not returned the proposal form they sent me on July 29th. I said I never got it, which is true, so another arrived this morning and I’ll get it straight back in the post. My friend G is over from New Zealand and we are meeting up for a walk and catch up this evening.

Morning all :D

Lovely bright and sunny here 8-)

The Blue Wave session yesterday was good. The referral says 3 months at the subsidised rate, but as we're already part way through this one I'm actually covered right through till the end of November which will take me nicely up to our holibobs. They've put E down as a carer (I can't actually manage some of the equipment alone and not all the sessions are supervised) which means he can come in with me each time so a win, win all round. Nat the therapist thinks it will take a year of 2/3 times a week to build the muscle up again, she said if I'd been referred last year it would have worked in approx. 3mths  Not much I can do about that now so fingers crossed it's onwards and upwards. She'll review my progress every six weeks. Had a good night and actually feel less sore this morning. It seems to loosen the muscle, even managed my usual exercises this morning, haven't been able to do them properly for over a week now. Planning another session tomorrow, nice to be able to go whenever it suits.

Weekly shop today, M&S then Tesco. Will probably detour into the large Iceland over there too, need a nice piece of gammon for the slow cooker, theirs is really tasty, good price too.

Have a good day :D

Afternoon all. Warm here with sunshine and clouds. In a while MrsC is going to look after Eliza. I'll be getting tea ready. Bolognese today.
Have a good day all.
