Good morning Thursday

Postby Ally » 31 Oct 2019, 06:46

Good morning.

Another very warm day forecast. 8-) 8-)

Classes 9 - 11 then usual friend meet for coffee and a pitufo in the plaza. :D :D

As it's Halloween my 3 classes from 4 - 7 ill be very relaxed, ghosty and fun filled. It's a national holiday tomorrow, the Spanish adore Halloween so that means more madness in the air than usual.

Meeting Don after work for beers and going to try the Mexican restaurant for dinner.

Have a great day everyone.

Morning Ally, morning everyone

Dull, grey but oddly warm. Wet stuff is forecast and we had a mizzley sort of rain last night.

Inside stuff it is then, for today. I have ironing and oven cleaning  and I have a couple of jobs for Grumpy to sort out. Change a light fitting and sort out a switch.

Leftovers for dinner, I'm going to try to be creative with chicken, mushrooms and pepper from our garden nd whatever else I can chuck in

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Morning all :)

Ally, I decorate our front door and windows so the children know it's ok to knock :) Lots of young families round our way, and the children are usually very cute and well-behaved 8-) :)

Oh Jan, I hate cleaning the oven, and usually talk Mick into it before Christmas   Those ingredients sound like risotto to me. Yum 8-) :D

Sainsbury's shopping with D today :) It's looking like rain, which is a shame after the last few sunny days. Pilates tonight, after a two-week break - hope Steph eases us back in gently :?

Have a good day everyone :) xx

Morning all. A bit of branch lopping, a tip run and then lazing for the rest of the day.
Jen asked re the carers for FiL? They have made things easier for MrsC and her sister. He's checked on twice a day every day. They are still going over though.
He seems to be getting more confused, and he's falling more. He's fallen more times than enough, but he always just gets up, he must have strong bones. Mentally though he is deteriorating. He said he'd fallen and been lying on the floor all night. He hadn't, the carers had logged his fall the day before. He'd also somehow fallen and knocked the tv over and broken the base. Sister in law is going over to see him today.
It's a nice morning here, sunny and bright.
Have a good one all.

Think he needs to go into a home Crommers, or have some/one with him all the time.

It may be Jan. I think the GP is arranging a CT (?) scan. We should know a bit more after that. Physically they are a long lived family. His blood pressure is perfect, blood oxygen levels better than the doctor's, never so much as gets a cold. His brother Jud (George) is the same. He hasn't been to the doctors since - well, nobody can remember. If he turned up at the local surgery they wouldn't know who he was. He's going the same way though, he is getting confused too.

Morning all

Getting older can be so cruel Crommers - and so hard for those around to see the deterioration of our loved ones :( Fingers crossed the scan will shed some light on his confusion
Ally have a fabulous time with the kids and post some photo's of the decorations plese
Jan, oven cleaning is my least favourite job as well - although we have a product here called Oven Pride and it's amazing! Really makes light work of a horrible job
Kaz, you're good to have the decorations. I'd love to as well but the door bell sends my cats flying every time it rings and I'd also worry about them getting out. So I'm the party pooper that has a 'no trick or treat here please' sign on my door. It's just easier that way

Well sort of usual / usual for me. Work is the usual but I have a temporary guest in my lounge at the moment - a 12 week old kitten that was being advertised on a local website. I was worried it would end up in the wrong hands because of the area so picked it up last night. I'm hoping one of my neighbours will adopt him, but if not then the local Cats Protection have said they could take him as of Monday. Poor thing is in a large dog crate at the moment so he needs to be let out and have a good run around when I get home.

Have a lovely day all x

Morning all :D

Bright and sunny here 8-)

I'm glad the carers are making things a bit easier for Mrs.C and her sister Crommers. It does sound as though twice daily visits might not be enough for much longer, especially given he keeps falling. I hope the scan sheds some light on his confusion and helps them decide on whether more carer visits will help or ultimately if it's a care home he needs. Always a difficult time for families.

It's very quiet in our close so we don't see any Halloween activity, lovely for children in a more family orientated area though.

Usual shopping day, M&S and Tesco. I've got a casserole going in the slow cooker, one of the benefits of colder weather.

Have a good day Image

Good afternoon everybody.
It was sunny this morning but with the wind it was cold walking for the paper.

Have been to have an Abdomonal Aortic Aneurysm this morning. It is a test for men over 65 to check on the thickness of the wall of the aorto. This can reduce in
thickness causing it to burst and internal bleeding.
Mine is OK so may live a few more years.
This afternoon we have had the annual check on the alarm system. No problems THen I have done some gardening. Cut and removed several Evening Primrose plants and vacuumbed leaves from the grids and flags.
Have noo come in and hada coffee before coming on here.
Have a good d ay everybody.
