Vocal Voices

We have a Christmas ornement. It is shaped like a tree with a wooden base, three ceramic tracks with trains on and Santa Claus aand reindeer at the top. These all work from a low voltage transformer.

As it is heavy and awkward to get into the loft. went yesterday with a photo to three charity shops asking if they would accept it January to sell.
One said they cannot sell Christmasitems, the other two said they cannot accept electrical goods.

So I have phoned a local children's hospice. They said they will be delighted to have it. It is abot ten miles away but we know it will be put to good use.

I do not get the Christmas items thing. There are three local charity shops and they are all selling cards and decorations. It must be due to certain local "sensitivities" or just good old PC.

Electrical items can also be sold so long as they have been PAT tested by a competent person using the correct tools. Local colleges do one day training and certification courses. However, if the shop does not have such a person or cannot call someone in, then they cannot sell them.

But well done on the hospice gift. It will lift the spirits of the sickly little ones.

That's nice, it sounds like something children would enjoy

Lovely that someone will enjoy it. Just yesterday, my sister brought the crib figures from our family home (she has had them in her attic for many years) to a local nursing home and they were delighted to have them. She had checked beforehand that they would take them. Too many things get thrown out when there there are people who could get use from them.

We still have a small crib. We didn't put it away after Christmas last year. It is on a small table in the lounge.
Have only seen two. One was for sale at a large retail outlet. Nearly £100.00. The other was not for sale in a charity shop.
