Relabelling junk food

Postby TheOstrich » 11 Dec 2019, 13:34

The latest report says that it would be better as a deterrent if chocolates and crisps, so on, were not labelled with calorie counts, but with the amount of exercise you need to undertake in order to burn off those calories, like a certain variety chocolate bar means you have to do 22 minutes running or equivalent thereafter.

Mrs O currently has a fad on "Pfeffernusse" which is a sort of German soft iced gingerbread flavoured cookie. You can get a reasonably-sized bag in the supermarket for just a quid.

I have told her that after every biscuit, she must now don lederhosen and slap her thighs 100 times vigourously! I'll provide the Oompah band …

Perhaps that should be on a private board, Ossie! ;)

On a serious note, that labelling really is a total waste of time! Everyoneknows what they should or shouldn't eat, so make their own choices :?

Coincidentally, I have the news on, and they're talking about this now

I'm like the Aldi adverts - I like pfeffernusse and I also like stollen. :)

When I served in Germany our Christmas dinner was served by the officers. We had a choice of a traditional German or UK meal. I always chose German with the goose, potato dumplings, red cabbage and green (kale?) mash... I'm not a fan of turkey. Oh, I'm hungry now. :o
