Well I'm braving the supermarket, early on. I normally go with D, but if course she isn't going, so I'm walking up there, doing the shopping for us and for her, then Mick will come and pick me up when I'm done.

Otherwise it's normal here, Becky is still working at the vets and Mick usually works from home, so no change there. My Chris is the Infrastructure Manager (IT) for his local council, and a lot of his work can be done from home. I am worried about Harry, supermarkets aren't the nicest of places to be working in right now, and although he is very fit and well physically, he has always been quite vulnerable emotionally - it's part of his special needs. Sainsbury's are usually quite good with their staff, so if he needs time off I'm hopeful they will understand. His dad is very good with him too.

Good morning everyone. Overcast but dry here.

Awaiting the lady who is doing our interior painting to come. She has made great strides in the 2 days she's been here and all seems to be going smoothly.

Off shortly to the Post Office to post G/S's 1st birthday present. We're unlikely to see him for an awful long time, but heigh ho, that's life.

All the Slimming World classes here have now been cancelled, and a local pub has closed. On a more positive note, one or two other pubs / caterers / independent food stores /local Tandoori are offering meal delivery services, and the local garages are offering collect / return your car from your house. Even the local vets are offering to deliver food supplies to the housebound.

Mrs O and I will be going into "isolation" for the 12 weeks (or as long as we can remain sane) on Saturday.

Morning all. MrsC to her dad's in a while. Then she will do his shopping, or try to. She's not been in a supermarket since the insanity started, I think she's in for a shock.
I managed to get some baby wipes last night, our daughter couldn't find any. So I'll take them up later on.
Apart from that not much on. An old work friend has asked me out for a drink on Saturday, the old daredevil. I've got a feeling they might shut the pubs before then though. I am tempted to go if not. It's likely to be the safest now that it is going to be for the next few months. Os, a local Italian and a pub that does food have also offered to deliver food.

Good morning all, it's pouring down here.

My Tesco delivery is due within the hour. It'll be interesting to see how many of my usual buys are unavailable.

Joe's gone to college, I'm surprised that it was open. He's booked the next two days off work as Amanda needs bringing back from Falmouth so after college he's going to pick up some boxes and bags from her parents for her to pack her things in and is driving down tomorrow morning.

Crommers, Aldi looked to have baby wipes yesterday morning. It annoyed me though because they've got this rule in place of no more than four items but that appeared to include the large multipack boxes of wipes. Not sure if the boxes contain four packs or six but either way, it seemed unfair that people were getting so many.

Kaz, totally understand you being worried about Harry, supermarkets aren't the friendliest place to work right now.

Mrs O and I will be going into "isolation" for the 12 weeks (or as long as we can remain sane) on Saturday.

E and I will be doing the same Ossie.

We're popping over to Tesco for our weekly shop, mainly fresh stuff, it will be interesting to see what the situation is. I have the heavy items on order for delivery, wondering how much will actually turn up. I heard on the news that Sainsbury intend to prioritise older/vulnerable people for home deliveries, I hope all supermarkets follow, if we're to self isolate for an extended period of time, deliveries will be vital.

We've made it back in one piece

Had to queue for about 40 minutes, as it was one out, one in, strictly controlled. Although a couple of men did try to jump the queue, but the women were rather vocal

Got everything we needed, even a few things not on the list. the only things missing on the shelves were goods, loo roll, paper napkins, which the Portuguese use a lot

All the bars and shops are now shut in Ourique, only the supermarkets and chemists open.

We dropped off the stuff for Mitchell and will now stay here for a couple of weeks, or until we run out of stuff.

Well Sainsbury's was remarkably calm, no bad temper or obvious panic buying - I've posted a bit about it on the Coronavirus thread. Aggression really isn't a Gloucester trait, most people here are so laid back that I would have been surprised to see any hassle. The cafe there is closing for the foreseeable, a sensible move really IMO.
