Good morning Saturday

Postby Ally » 21 Mar 2020, 06:32

Good morning.

Really sunny and bright. We must have had some rain through the night (either that or the sprinklers went crazy  ) but the gardens looks really pleased with themselves.

I need to nip to Mercadona for a few basics. I'll take the car (just me as only one person allowed in the car at the same time) then I'll come back and Don can do the same for any bits he wants.

I really enjoyed our jiving yesterday (such a laugh) so we're going to do a it more today.

Don's always fancied learning to skip. I have 2 skipping ropes...... :P :P

Roast chicken for dinner.

Have a great day. Take care.

Morning all

A lovely sunny start to the morning; I'm hoping that someone sticks to their word and comes round today to pick up - and pay for - my dining table that I was selling. I also need to head to B&Q to get some underlay for the flooring; the shops are so empty at the moment it's easy to keep the 2 or more meter distance.

I need to find somewhere that sells fresh veg as well; don't need much and can be the dregs of whats is left once the gannets have been and raided as it's just for the chickens; but fingers crossed I'll find something somewhere.

And need to get a few bags of compost then I'm ready for any potential lock down and won't need to leave the house until the veg run out ;-)

I hope everyone is holding up as well as can be and continuing the group hug that Kaz started last night

stay safe everyone x

Morning all :)

I'll bet your garden looks lovely, Ally :D

Ria, I think we'll all get used to the distance thing soon, as it will be the new "normal" for a while, but it takes some getting used to at first :?

No plans here, which feels really odd, as our Saturdays are generally so busy!

Morning everyone

Blue sky, white fluffy clouds, rather angry looking grey ones and sunshine. Hammered it down earlier, so we had a coffee in bed 8-)

Houseworkery stuff for me this morning and if it-s dry this afternoon, I-ll have a look at the broad beans, think some of them need picking.

You get used to it quite easily Kaz. But as we only go out once a fortnight

Have as good a day as you can everyone xx

Morning all. Daughter and Eliza are coming down shortly. The later MrsC and I are going out for a picnic. Sister in law will be coming round later for a pizza and a glass of wine.
Have a good day all.

LOL, Saundra, Day 1 in lockdown for Mrs O and myself as well so you're in good company!

Mrs O has washed the kitchen floor; I've put back a few bits of furniture and remounted a few wall hangings after the furore of our lady painter's visit last week. She completed the kitchen, bathroom and ensuite, then stripped the 30yo wallpaper off the hallway before giving it a first coat. We have postponed her next scheduled visit (which was May) and she will come back in June, all being well. It certainly looks all fresh and bright, and we can live with bare walls until then!

I've positioned the window lock key on the front room windowsill so I can quickly open them and harangue any callers at the door. Many folk round here reporting on FB that they had persistent telephone cold callers (loft insulation grants); we had two, so just be wary answering the phone.

Other than that, life rolls on ….. thoughts for all fellow VVers today.

Morning all. I think today will be a bit of a “down” day for me, I certainly did too much yesterday as Edward was unwell. He feels a bit better today. I had planned to wash my hair but don’t think I have the energy, I think I’ll go back to bed for a while.

On the plus side, I ordered something online yesterday evening from Dunnes Stores and it was delivered about 15 minutes ago! Also, I’ve just received a delightful email from a couple we met on a cruise almost two years ago, talking about cruises and saying people should keep in touch in these difficult times. Onwards and upwards!

Afternoon all :D

Bright and sunny here 8-)

Saundra and Ossie, we're joining the club, it's Day 1 for us too

Sensible to take it nice and easy today Osc xx

Not a lot happening here, methinks I'll be saying that a lot over the next weeks/months.

Have a good day and stay safe xxx

Afternoon all, it’s sunny here.

Joe got back from Cornwall last night and is now isolating as much as possible so won’t be seeing Amanda, they managed to get all of her belongings in his car though so if uni doesn’t restart then she hasn’t got to worry about clearing the flat.

I’m having a wobbly day today, I’m blaming Belinda Carlisle. I was putting on make up first thing when Leave A Light On came on the radio and the lyrics were a bit too close to home, for us all, right now and that started me off

Anyway, stay safe everyone xx
