It's for the best, I know, but a bit sobering.

I think we all knew it was coming, but it still feels odd.
These are the strangest times.

Be interesting to see how far it is physically enforced. Quite a few of us VVers are in self-imposed lockdown already, so tonight's announcement only confirms the approach we've adopted. What will be interesting to see is how the "younger generation" responds to it.

#1 son, armed response officer. Comment last night.

Lol the good old UK public are still... Yeah but its not a lock down its a last warning. No you idiots only essential things allowed out for, police enforcing. Everything else curtailed. It's a lock down

Our government was willing to allow us to self enforce. Of all the countries in the EU, the UK doesn't like ID cards, has a Highway Code instead of road law and believes that the people should self regulate and, where they won't, will step in to lay down the law.

Apparently we're no longer British. We're just stupid instead. The less you expect of people and self responsibility, the less you get. I wonder if we can ever go back?

OK, daft question because I do get lock down and all it entails. But... Nadine went shopping for food and got me some fresh stuff as it saves me from having to go into a public shop and generally makes it easier if we try and restrict contact to just ourselves. But can I now drive to theirs to collect the food? Or am I only allowed to get food from a shop?

You should be OK Ria. You are going to pick up food after all.
