Good morning Saturday

Postby Ally » 28 Mar 2020, 06:17

Good morning.

Sunshine today and showers this evening. :D

Discovered yesterday my skipping class is much more fun with Led Zep blasting out so that's on the agenda to get my day started.

Today would've been mum and dad's 59th wedding anniversary. My dad is being a wee hero through all this but I know he'll be feeling sad today. :(

A hug for you too Saundra. (((xxx)))

Have a decent day. X

Clocks go forward tonight. :D

Have a hug Saundra ((())). Good news on the delivery anyway. Maybe people have run out of room in their freezers. Tesco have cut the number of items you can order on line down to eighty. Eighty! Still way too many imo but apparently some people were ordering over 100 items. I hope your dad is OK today Ally.
Nice morning here - from the inside. Outside it is sunny but with a very cold wind.
Again we're ok for food today. MrsC and her sis are going to their dad's in a while. We need frozen veg but overall that's nothing.
We have moved our garden bench round to the front of the house so we can talk to people we know when they pass.
Have a good day all.

Good morning all - a glorious sunny morning but my; such a nippy wind again.

I had a very lazy start to the day today - alarm went off at 6am so I could let the chickens out their run - they're too loud otherwise and I really don't want to annoy any neighbours (well one in particular). So once they were out, cats fed I went back to bed for what I thought would be another half hour or so - woke up at 9am!!!! Obviously was needed.

Now getting ready for the day and will pootle about in the garden and greenhouse and clean up where I can. Annoyingly I have four water butts that are in the middle of the garden; they were in danger of toppling over as the bases had cracked / the soil given way so I managed to move the water between butts; get big paving slabs down and then put them back - but the new stands are only arriving Tuesday! Oh well, that'll give me something to do on Tuesday I suppose :D

(((Saundra))) this lock down malarkey really isn't easy - esp for people living on their own. At least I have my garden, cats and chickens to keep me sane but it's not easy not having anyone to speak to face to face. Have you tried video calls with your family?

Sending love to everyone; stay safe and strong xxx

Good morning all, it’s a breezy one here with a few grey clouds but still sunny.

The washing machine is on so that should dry on the line today, I’ll leave the ironing until tomorrow though so that I’ve got something to look forward to.

I walked Billy early and John went shopping when I got back. We’re now the proud owners of a loaf of medium Warburtons and half a dozen eggs :Hi:
We tried to get a few bits last night, we went out just after 8 and Tesco in Hednesford had a queue of around 40 people and we gave up when it became apparent that we’d be waiting well over an hour judging by how slowly it was moving. From there we tried Aldi but that had closed at 8 so we headed towards Cannock and the Spar and Co-op that we passed were closed, tried the corner shop by my Mom and Dad’s but they didn’t have anything we needed, and Morrisons in Cannock was closed as was the big Asda. We then tried the Tesco Express on the way home and got some jam to liven up stale bread toast and by the time we got home I was having a right old rant about China and their disgusting hygiene practices.
John’s been to McColls and the Co-op in the village and didn’t do very well so he came home and drove to the next village where they’ve got two Co-ops and a Sainsburys Local and had a bit more luck there. He got 5 items out of the 7 on the list in the end.

Crommers, the Tesco delivery man was saying the other day that I was only his second delivery and pointed to the inside of his van which was looking quite empty - the people before us had had 40 BAGS of shopping (everything is packed in bags for life). I had 11 and some of that was for my parents.

Sending my love and very best wishes to your Dad and you Al xxx

Lots of love to you too Saundra xxx

Stay well everyone xxx

:o :o 40 bags is just disgraceful, unless they've got about fifteen kids!

Jo, so far I'm lucky and have enough for myself in the fridge / freezer. Nadine went shopping for me the other day and got some fresh veg for me but that was all I needed and possibly would need again next but can do without for another week at least. By then I hope (one can always dream) that there is a better system in place and it's a bit easier.

The one item I was really wanting was yeast and my sister found some and is sending it from Germany :D How mad is that.

Good morning from Day One in the Cocoon House - isn’t cocooning a much gentler word than isolation, I wonder who in our government thought of it. It is sunny and cloudy out there but looks cold. As we are now confined to barracks for (at least) two weeks, we will be very thankful for our terrace. Miss Osc is getting her Tesco delivery this morning and has some things for us in it, so she will drop them in later, plus get us a couple of items from the chemist. Usual h/worky stuff to do and I might do some ironing. I want to try and get back to my knitting too, plus I have a book to finish.
