Had a message from a friend yesterday.

Would you like a lamb?

No thanks, I said, not fair just to have one, next door have plenty we can watch.

Daft xxxxxx, she said.

Dead one.

So tomorrow, we have a lamb coming tomorrow. Fortunately, they'll cut it up into cutlets, legs, etc. I've asked not to have the head though. It's a Portuguese delicacy. but dear me, it stinks when cooked.

Just need to find some room in the freezers now

This one is still running around in our friends field.

I'm not a huge lamb lover, but having had some of theirs before, it's very soft and lush 8-)

I've always hated lamb and pork. Just one of those things.

All my men are meat lovers and when we all lived in the UK Don would cook the Sunday dinner as I just couldn't handle the meat.

We do eat lamb, pork and chicken, but not roasts these days, just boneless loin steaks, and only once a week at that. We source it from a local independent butchers rather than the supermarket.

UK lamb is very expensive compared to the other two meats, nearly double the price, so we only have lamb rarely these days.

We're paying 75 € for it. Will report back tomorrow afternoon, once it arrives, as to how they've cut it up ;)
