Normally our post comes before 11.oo a.m.
But last week we had two parcels delivered late afternoon. The second was on Saturday jst before 5.00 p.m. Not our usual postman. Both left on the door step with the postman stood on the pavement to make sure we took it in.
Not complaining as we are still getting post.

We would normally collect ours at the bar, down the road. As it's been shut for a few weeks, I thought it would be best to ask in the post office - except it's shut

But the lecky bill arrived on our doorstep last week

I had a larger letter delivered on Saturday that wouldn't fit through the letterbox so the postie rang the bell; we stood and chatted for a few minutes - him half way down the garden path which meant the entire neighbourhood probably heard us :D :D :D

We're still getting deliveries but as others have said, noticeably later in the day.

Mail sorting is manpower intensive and in close quarters and used to be done from 6 pm to 6 am. I imagine that RM will have had to re-jig the system to comply with social distancing and that inevitably means fewer people on the floor at any one time. The only way to achieve that is to extend the hours.
