A few vibes please

Postby Osc » 22 Apr 2020, 14:36

My niece is Cork was due her third baby in, I think, early July. Last Saturday early morning, she drove herself to hospital as she had been bleeding since Thursday and started having pains. Scans showed baby was fine but they kept her in until yesterday (honestly, I’d say she was begging to go home, knowing her) but she had strict instructions to rest. However, her husband had to bring her in at 3am this morning and a little boy was born within the last hour or so. She got to hold him in her arms before they took him to NICU and hopefully he is ok. I think he is about 30 weeks or so. Her sister says she will phone me later, my brother was very upset when he phoned me and had little info although Sian had phoned him herself. Just a few vibes please - it’s hard enough having a premature baby but in these times it will be so much harder for them.

Loads of vibes from me, Osc. My DiL is carrying our first grand child and the stress of present times is the sort of thing that worried us most about the birth. (((V)))

And <<<vibes>>> from me too; thoughts for both the parents and the little one.
If the last scans showed the babe was fine, that's a very positive sign in itself.

Sending my very best wishes Osc, fingers crossed that he’ll be fine. My friend’s son was born at 26 weeks and he’s now 13 and you wouldn’t know he’d been so premature, they work wonders in NICU.

Got a little more info. She had to have a section, the baby is 1lb 12ozs  and she was apparently due on 21st July so about 27/28 weeks.
