Not uncommon just at the moment around here, Vic, although I would have thought most pubs would have finished liquidating their stocks by now.

Many pubs/clubs locally had a "fire sale" of keg beer once lockdown started to at least get some cash in the tills and stop the beer going off in the pumps. At least one pub locally was giving it away, many others were between £1 and £1.50/pint. Some were saying bring your own mugs / containers, we'll fill them and you can take it away. North Dorset rugby club just up the road from me sold off everything from the bar one Sunday morning from trestle tables in the car park, including bottled beers, crisps and chocs - they could then close the clubhouse for the duration and minimize any losses through potential burglary ….

As for "round the back", most pubs doing a click and collect / phone and collect service here are directing people "round the back" of their establishments to the kitchens, one customer at a time, or else they bringing it out to you in their car park. Some of the local pub/restaurants are actually getting rave reviews on FB for the quality of the meals they're providing - and good for them! I'm actually surprised more pubs haven't been providing that sort of service pre-Covid anyway - I recall the Kings Arms in Crewkerne offering Sunday roasts in foil takeaway containers over 20 years ago - it was quite a novelty back then, and they were excellent meals! 8-)

I mentioned in a Good Morning thread earlier this week about Sturminster Newton heritage waterwheel mill moving from opening on occasional summer days to full-time production, no less, producing flour to ease the shortages for local traders! My Sister tells me at least two historic mills in Warwickshire are doing the same, one delivering flour as far away as Coventry.
