Morning Ally, morning all

sorry for the radio silence these past days - kitchen build means no dining room = no dining table where the laptop usually. Lounge is chaos with all sorts of boxes everywhere so been relying on my phone for the internet and as I get older my fingers get fatter, my eyesight worse and my patience even less, I hate typing anything long on the phone :D :D :D

But the cupboards in what used to be the 'dining room' are now installed and I have a desk / work area in one of them so back online with a laptop - yay!!! Karl will be working on the plumbing over this weekend and then hopefully we'll get the kitchen units installed without too much of an issue.

I'll try catch up on all the posts I missed but hope everyone is keeping well?

xxxx

Morning Ally, Ria and everyone

Chilly breeze, but will warm up nicely later 8-)

Nightmare, putting in a kitchen, when you're living in the same place. Hope it all gets sorted out soonest Ria xx

Watering done and after breakfast, we're off on our weekly trek around Ourique. Pingo, Nelson for salt for the pool, Alentejana for wine, then need to pay for the gravel.

Will pit stop for a coffee on the way back and also check our post box  It was full of dust when we got the key, so had to be mucked out

Back to try and find something to do apart from the prep for dinner.

Have a good day everyone ,whatever you're doing xx

Morning all :)

Ally, that's nice :D xxx

Ria, it's a nightmare to live with (been through it several times) but soooo exciting to see the finished result :D Hoping to see a pic or two when it's done :) 8-) xxx

A coffee "out" sounds like heaven to me Jan :) Hope you get all your errands done :)

It's dull here, we had a huge rainstorm at teatime yesterday, might get more rain today - much needed 8-) No real plans apart from housework, should do a Zumba but don't really feel like it, as the pollen has got to me a bit, so might give it a miss.....

Have a good day everyone :) xx

Good morning everybody.

Cloudy ut warm. The sun is trying to come out.
Just pootling again today.
I seem to have stopped the leak from my windscreen washer bottle. No marks on the drive where the car is parked when we are not using it.
Took a pair of shoes to be repaired yesterday. Wont get them back till next wek. They have to be qarantined for 72 hours. Then they are repaired
and quarantined for another 72 hours before I can ick them up. The cobbler has many shoes he has repaired before lock down started. Monday was the first day he opened after lock down.

Have a good day everybody.

Good morning - overcast and muggy, possible heavy showers later.

Hopefully the painting of the Ostrich-cave will finish today and I'll be able to set up the steam-powered mainstream computer equipment again, as compared with using this steam-powered laptop..... I'm using a mouse with it which I prefer, as I'm not really used to the touch-pad thingy, but the keyboard's not all that responsive at times.

Otherwise a slow day.

Hope you get your kitchen sorted out OK, Ria.

Take care all.

Good morning all, it’s a dull and humid one.

I walked down to the postbox this morning and it was clear to see from the debris just how much the A34 flooded last night  From there I took Bill for a long walk on the common and in the woods and he came back with hardly a spot of mud on him, I think the ground was so dry that it just soaked everything up.

I think I’m finally making some progress with our refund from Virgin. After finally reaching them via WhatsApp they appear to have now cancelled the refund ‘voucher’ they’d issued and I’m now in the queue for a cash refund, which they say will take up to 120 days.

The window cleaner has been today for the first time since February but he’s coming back later as I’ve noticed that his assistant who was doing the windows on the front has missed two of them.

John had an early start today, he’d got to be in Luton by 7.45am for a site visit. Not sure what time he’ll be back. Tom’s got his books out and Joe’s at work.

Have a good day all :)

Morning all, it is dull here and we had torrential rain during the night, so loud it woke us up. It’s amazing how quickly the street has dried up though. I’m feeling very sluggish today so plan on not doing very much. I have a form to fill out and send back to the radiation oncologist, who has also given me a follow up telephone consultation in July. I have a birthday card to post too, so I’ll stroll up to the post box later. I might do a little ironing. My life is so exciting

Glad you're progessing with your refund Jo.

Dad got a full refund from jet2 for his and my flight that we should have taken at the end of March.

Jacob had bought Don (and me) flights, transfers and 5 nights in Rome (last November. Way before Covid) for Don's 60th.
We should have been going in 10 days.

But.... Ryanair have said we can just change the dates which we have now to early September. The hotel has honoured the booking too.

Michele is waiting for a refund, being processed now apparently, from easyJet for the flights her and Mark had booked for a week when dad should have been here.

It must be a nightmare for the airlines.
