Broadband to go with ?
Current contract is with phone calls included
No need of phone calls as have enough time on mobile for what we need

a friend is with plusnet - she's very happy (and very particular). She also uses her mobile for all phone calls so no need for that to be inclusive

Vic, for general browsing at about 35Mbps, e-mails, YouTube, iPlayer etc they are all much of a muchness.
TalkTalk is consistently rated worst, though I found it OK apart from the sneaky up-pricing. BT always at the bottom for customer service. Virgin the most expensive and probably OTT for average use. You pays your money.....

We’re with Sky and have their fibre unlimited broadband. I think we pay around £35 per month and that’s for broadband, line rental and anytime calls to landlines and mobiles. It gets quite a hammering with the four of us watching the likes of Netflix and Prime, plus Joe and his PlayStation. We’ve only ever had one problem with a fault in the area and they were really excellent at dealing with it.
We were with Virgin before, the less said about them the better. It was what they called their ‘National’ down the phone line broadband service which we had because we don’t have cable in this area, I don’t think they do it anymore but it was terribly slow (usually below 1mbps) and frequently dropping and their customer service was appalling.

At the end of May I enquired about changing from Bt to Virgin as my BT contract finished on 1st July.
What a fiasco. On one ver long phone call-- probably from abroad-- when they were asking security questions it took nearly five minutes before I understood they wanted my date of birth.
Having agreed to have the installation, two men came to install the new cable from the cabinet at the end of the crescent to the small box in the pavement at the front of the house. Couldn't do it as here was a blockage in the duct.cable over the tiled roof of the garage to get it to the back of the house
There were other problems and I finally arranged for an engineer to come and discuss the possible installation. He was surprised that I would not allow them to
throw the cable over the tiles roof of the garage to get it to the back of the house.
So have stayed with BT with broadband, ant time landline calls and mobile phone and TV. It is less than Virgin wanted to charge even if the broadband speed is ledd. It is adequate for what I want.
There are so many different options and people have different requirements. I am the onlyone who uses the broadband, my wife making long phone calls--nearly an hour sometimes.

Th final straw was when an engineer came to discuss the installation. He was surprise when I asked who would pay for damage to roof tile on the garage or glass in windows as he wanted th through the cable over the garage roof to get it to the back of the house.
I have stayed with BT. Get braodband, TV any time calls on both landline and mobile.
An engineer is coming on Saturday as we have not ben able to set up the new TV box to get pictures on our TV.
Am paying less than I would have done with Virgin. Broad band speed is slower but satisfactory for me as I am the onlu user.
