Fuming! UPDATE 24/7

Someone at B's work turned up for work this morning with Covid symptoms and didn't mention feeling ill for a whole hour before finally speaking out, and being sent home straight away - via the testing station!

How utterly irresponsible, surely anyone waking up feeling ill, with sore throat and headache these days would phone in sick! :? She gets her results back within 48 hours

Becky didn't have any direct contact with her, but she was at work so if it's positive I guess we're isolating

That is so - well, words fail - irresponsible for one.

I sincerely hope you all keep well and that B was not infected by the stupid actions of one person.

I take it that the whole vet clinic will now close?

Such a minefield of symptoms let's hope it's negative
I mean some people have it with no symptoms

Thanks both. Jan I have no idea, possibly just a deep clean overnight? :?

Saundra, minefield is right, but if she's positive that's us stuck at home for a fortnight, and D stuck on her own. I'm so cross!

Ah actually I was just talking to my sister, and she checked - apparently it's only Becky who needs to isolate IF this woman is positive. Mick and I only have to if Becky shows symptoms :!:

There is no vaccine or treatment for stupid and B's colleague proves it.

What the idiot does not seem to understand is that everyone in the practice at the time she was there is now suspect and so could be their nearest and dearest. Even if she is not positive the upheaval to everyone's lives "just in case" is enormous and costly.

The only way to stop these people is to prosecute them and jail or heavily fine them.

Yes, it's totally irresponsible turning up for work in the current climate with symptoms like that.

But only yesterday, I've seen this discussed on another forum, and the point was made that in numerous firms, there is a culture of fear over attendance and timekeeping, with disciplinary measures being taken against those deemed to be shirking. So it is rather ingrained in the psyche of employees to "struggle in", even though they are unwell. Might that explain what the person at B's work was thinking?

I think this could be the case Ossie, especially for those on lower pay. It's extremely frustrating for all concerned but I bet it happens more than we think :(

I hope B stays clear Kaz xxx
