If they show ....

.... that wretched donkey charity advert one more time ..... I'll eat a bag of raw carrots!

There really ought to be a law against these things, especially the adverts that seem to go on and on and on and on .....

And they can turn that flippin' Black Horse into a meat pie while they're at it.

I quite like the adverts. They give me an excuse to to go to the little room or make a brew. And I can honestly say that they have never made me buy anything, donate to anything or change my habits one slight bit.

The adverts seem longer than the programmes.

There are adverts for saving elephants and tigers as well. Funerals, equity release are some others.
Like WM has said it gived time to make a drink or other activities.

In our house we call them the "Misery ads".
Poor babies born with facial deformities, badly treated donkeys, children walking miles for water in poor countries, Cats protection, the RSPCA (who I wouldn't give a brass farthing to), they are all attempting to tug at your heartstrings and get you to donate money. It can get you down.

It's all a long way from the cheerful "Boom bomm boom boom - Esso blue!" type of ad; the type that encouraged you to buy something as opposed to guilt trip you.
