Merry morning and happy Monday everyone

Going to be another hot day here; I'll be doing more of the usual working mixed in with some nondescript pootling around the house and garden, anything that doesn't require too much energy really. Will water the back garden in a minute before the sun comes over, and then later today I'll sort the front garden. I want to create a new flower bed but it's just too warm to put plants in, but may start digging up the lawn and get the shape going. Also thinking of putting in a 2nd small pond in the front to encourage more wildlife.... lots to plan and think about, but too hot to put much into practice :D :D :D

Have a lovely day everyone, enjoy whatever it is you're up to x

Good morning Meriad and anybody else who is up.

The sun is up and it is getting hot.
Going to see if my car can be fixed. The locking mechanism for the hinged flap over the petrol filler cap is not working.

Then will paint the last side of the shed and one fence panel. Then just pootling.

Have a good d ayeverybody

Morning Ria, Cruiser and everyone

Cool and breezy this morning :Hi: :Hi: Had to put a cardi on when outside watering  We're hopefully having a warm day, rather than a hot hot day 8-)

Grumpy will be assembling the new bench - on our kitchen table  :cute: Apparently, it's the flattest thing he can use, also a good height for him to work  Oh well, it's been used for work stuff before. As long as he puts a cover over it - this time ;)

Sounds a good plan Ria, make a plan and then think about it :D

General pootling here too today, I can work outside :Hi: :Hi: doing bits and bobs in the garden :D

Have a good day everyone ,whatever you're doing xx

Morning all, it is a dull day here and I don’t think it is that warm although I haven’t been out yet. Edward has headed off to play golf and I will do general tidying up before going to the gym at 12.30, might go for coffee with the ladies afterwards. Miss Osc is coming up from Wicklow to her office and said she would pop in, which will be nice. Had fun dancing yesterday, you might have seen the photos/videos on FB. I loved being out out, socialising and dancing.

Morning all :D

Hot, hot, hot 8-)

Really humid again today, my hair's damp. Oh for nice dry heat like it is in Egypt.

Much too hot for anything strenuous, we won't be going further than our garden.

Hope you all have a good day, stay safe xx

Good afternoon all, it’s sunny and hot now after a dull start.

I walked Bill very early before it got too hot for him. He really struggles with the heat and is flat out with a fan blowing towards him at the moment. I’m currently waiting for the third of three Amazon deliveries due (all three are coming separately) and a DPD delivery.

Jen, a dry heat would be lovely wouldn’t. I’m so fed up of the humidity.

Have a good day all :)

Good afternoon all.
I do feel for dogs in this weather. Dobby the cockerpoo is a hairy hound and he does pant a lot when it is hot and humid. They have him clipped regularly too.
Sunny with a nice breeze. I have managed to get six bottles of the "healthy" wine from Tesco, so that was a result. The last four times I've been in it was sold out. MrsC has had a coffee with her friend Janice this morning. Janice is worn out looking after her 98 year old mum every day. We have written a letter to the Git family across the road politely asking them to trim their conifers. They won't, but we are advancing steadily through the process as laid down in the gov.org website.
Had a night out with my mate Pete and his lovely wife on Saturday. It is so good to be able to socialise with friends again!
Enjoy the rest of your day everyone.

What wine is that Crommers? Apologies if you've mentioned it before and I missed it
Poor Janice, does she get help from anyone? And as for the Git family, sorry you have to deal with this - conifers can be thugs and suck up so much water. My upstairs owner has a huge leylandii (which autocorrect would like to change to Disney :D) in his half of the garden. It really needs to be either removed or cut down and thinned down by half, but daft me (and tenant upstairs) both don't want to make too much of a fuss (yet) as it really is a haven for so many birds. But realistically the tree needs to go; the roots are starting to cause damage to the footpath etc and if someone trips then who knows what will happen.
And finally, glad you had a lovely night out - it does make life seem more normal again doesn't it. But then what is normal these days?

Afternoon! :)

It's very humid here too, not terribly pleasant! I've been to M&S in town with Emma, the cafe opened last week, so we had (half-price) lunch and then did a bit of shopping. I walked into town, so have racked up plenty of steps ;) We went into Debenhams - absolutely full of sale rails and hardly any customers - I bought a dress for a fiver  Home now, and Pepper has had a haircut from the Snip Doggy Dog lady, and looks like a short lamb  Much cooler for her though ;) Fraggle's is next week - she only had time to groom one, and I was more in need 8-)

Healthy wine, Crommers - tell us more! :D :geek:

Have a good evening everyone :) xxx

Ria and Kaz, it's Reserve des Tuguets Madiran from Tesco, £7 a bottle. I decant it two hours before drinking which smooths it out considerably. The healthy bit is because wines from the Madiran area of Gascony (south west France) contain higher levels of procyanidins and resveratrol than any other type of wine in the world. These two compounds have scientifically proven health benefits. Good for your heart, apparently. Some Sardinian wine is similar.

No Ria, Janice gets virtually no help though there are two brothers and another sister. Her mother is very demanding too. Janice has to stand up for herself or it is going to make her ill.
Conifers are bad Ria, yes. They go for water and can break into drains to get at it, and block them.
What is normal these days indeed. But we did have a lovely night.
