Good morning Tuesday

Postby Ally » 18 Aug 2020, 05:03

Good morning.

Leaving shortly for my 10km walk. Haven't done one since Saturday and itching to get going.

Sis and I are going into Glasgow for the day. :D :D

I'm going to splurge at House of Fraser's Mac counter on an outrageous pink lipstick then on to the Radley shop for a new bag. :D

Lunch and a cocktail will complete the pleasure.

Have a great day.

Merry morning Ally, morning all

enjoy the day shopping Ally - oooooh a new Radley bag; definitely want to see a photo of that please! And lunch with cocktails sounds like a perfect end to a lovely morning / day

Usual day for me - although have someone coming at noon to clean my rug in the lounge. Dare I admit it's never had a proper clean since I got it - about 15 years ago  . It obviously gets vacuumed etc and any spills are wiped up straight away but it's never had a proper clean. It's a wool on wool Turkish rug that wasn't cheap all those years ago and I've never trusted the steam cleaners so far. But it really needs a clean now so I'm just going to have to risk it and hope and pray it doesn't shrink / fade, fall apart - so fingers crossed for me please :D

Oh and then I had a chat with my colleague who heads up the London office; we were talking about reopening the office. We'll either be doing it now in September with a gradual phased return for people, or keep it closed until January next year. I know most colleagues are very happy working from home so I suspect we'll officially remain closed until January but we have a group office call on Thursday and will have a chat about it with everyone. Personally I'm in favour of a January opening because I do worry about a 2nd wave come the autumn / winter and right now everyone is in the swing of working from home and I think it'll be more disruptive to go back and then face a potential 2nd lock down. But we'll see what Thursday brings :D

Have a lovely day all x

Morning Ally, Ria and everyone

Dull, grey but warm at the moment, warming up later. And hopefully brightening up too

Enjoy your shopping and cocktails Ally x

Fingers crossed Ria x

Taken me almost half an hour to get this basted internet up and running this morning :cute: :cute: That's the problem being on wifi when it's cloudy

Ironing for me later, Grumpy will be staining the now complete bench and I'll take a piccy later :D

Another bbq for dinner 8-)

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Morning all, it’s a pretty miserable day here, the rain has eased to light drizzle for the moment  I’m off to the gym at 12.30 and have nothing much planned for the rest of the day. I finally picked up my knitting last night, first time so inclined in five months, and I want to finish the cardigan I am knitting for my grand nephew, he is doing very well but is still in hospital with breathing problems. Edward is making apple jelly as I type :D

Good morning good morning good morning!
Rubbish day here, grey and raining. Mind you yesterday started off similar and we had a glorious few hours in the afternoon.
That sounds like a brilliant day Ally. Will you be happy to get back to the office Ria? Sympathy with the net problems Jan, it can be incredibly frustrating. I'm jealous of the sunshine, Saundra!
Jen I hope all went well with E.
Osc, same here but at least the rain is quite warm at this time of year!
In a while MrsC wants to have a stroll around M&S, so that's where we will be.
Have a good day all!

In all honesty Crommers, I'd be very happy to continue working from home - I've actually enjoyed it more than I thought I would. I really thought I'd go stir crazy before long, but I haven't at all. And I do hope that once we're back to normal (whatever that will be when the time comes) I'll still be able to work from home one or two days a week - I think provided we don't have any client meetings coming in then I could realistically stay home. And it will be until the new year at least before we go back to regular face to face meetings, if not longer than that.

So for now, I'm keeping head down and just enjoying it as much as I can :D

Morning all :D

It's been a bit dull and overcast, still very warm, looks like the sun's trying to come out now.

Early call from the RNOH, they've penciled in 2nd Sept for E's op, all depends on his pre op results, particularly the bloods taken yesterday and tomorrow's MRI. He must self isolate after seeing Mr.P tomorrow. The secretary will arrange for him to be swabbed 72hrs prior to admittance, the only fly in that ointment is she thinks he will have to travel to Stanmore for it. I hope not, it seems madness to arrange a 5hr round trip for a swab which takes minutes. Apparently there's a strict protocol around it and she said the bods involved will be in contact to discuss it.

I've got the hairdresser at 2pm, just as well it's today as I won't be going far after tomorrow either. Hope Jo's still observing all the Covid rules or I'll be back home rather quicker than planned.

Hope you all have a good day, stay safe xx

Good afternoon all, so far it’s been nice today and hopefully we won’t have another storm (I posted about this area yesterday on the storm thread - yikes).

Bill was walked first thing, two loads of washing have been done and are all dry apart from a couple of hoodies, I’ve been to see to next door’s rabbit (they were on holiday up north last week, had the weekend at home and are now on holiday down south until Saturday). I feel a bit wary going in the house especially since they came back from the north west last week and were visiting various attractions and restaurants there so I went armed with hand sanitiser and a pack of Dettol wipes

That’s good news Jen, fingers crossed that something convenient can be arranged for the swab. My Dad had his veins done a couple of weeks ago and had to self isolate but the daft thing was that his pre op was arranged for three days before his surgery so that broke the isolation.

Have a good day all :D
