Morning you two, morning everyone :)

a bit of an overcast start to the day with the promise of more cloud and lots of rain apparently.... that means pootling inside vs outside. Hoping to get a nail appointment at some point today but that's about it besides the usual work of course. Quite a few colleagues on holiday so it's still pretty quiet.

Have a lovely day everyone x

Morning all, it’s overcast here but there’s some blue sky out to sea, hopefully it will come our way. Michael and Kellie are back home and we are minding them this morning. Michael and Edward are chipping golf balls across the road and Kellie is having her permitted 15 minutes of screen time - while they were away, they spent very little time on iPads so we are trying to keep that going. If the weather stays ok, we might go to the pub next door for lunch, eating outside. They have both got tall and Kellie has lost one of her top teeth, with the other one hanging by a thread

Good afternoon. Very nice now after early rain, in fact it's a bit muggy out there.

Just got back from brunch at the local garden centre, £6.83 for a large breakfast, bacon sarnie and salad for Mrs O, and 2 coffees. :D Very nice, but it will be our last such outing as it was absolutely Wasp Central up there. A black BMW in the carpark was crawling with them (they like black, apparently) and in the outdoor café, it was difficult to get more than a minute's respite. When we'd been through the shop and were loading up the car with compost and plant pots, two wasps got inside and it was the devil's own job to evict them. So that's it for this year's eating out, I'm afraid, simply no longer a pleasant experience. :| On the positive side, we've had four meals out under the half-price scheme, so that's hopefully helped out the local traders in some small way.

Hope you have a yellow-stripy-thing-free day, all! :? :D

I have a fair few wasps here at home Ossie and soon learned the best way to deal with them is to give them something nice, as far away from the house as possible. So days like today (sunny and dry) when they're active I either put some mango juice into to small feed bowls I use for the hedgehogs and the wasps happily stick to that and leave me in peace or I put out left over wet cat food and they love that too.

They're happy, I'm happy so win win all round.

Sadly not sure you can just head into a restaurant with your own pouch of cat food at the ready :D :D :D

Afternoon everyone :)

Busy day here, into town this morning with Becky to meet Em and her daughter for a sandwich and a natter. We walked in and walked home, but I detoured to D's as I picked her up a few bits in B&M. Not long got home :)

Ugh wasps! :? Ria, your story reminded me of our encounter with wasps at the Eastcliff cafe in Teignmouth! We were plagued by wasps until an unsuspecting couple came along and ordered cream teas. The buzzing pests left us to it and descended on the "better offer" - the funny thing was the lady flapped and ran around, so they buzzed at her, leaving her OH stoically munching his way through his scones, undisturbed.... :P

Love to all xxx
