Good morning Thursday

Postby Ally » 27 Aug 2020, 05:35

Good morning.

Looking at my ticker reminded me I flew over here 4 weeks today. It has absolutely flown by. :o

Craig took me to Matlock and Bakewell yesterday. We had a lovely walk round like a couple of old tourists.
Lunch in a smashing wee pub and I bought a Nigel Slater cook book from the charity shop. :)

We had a couple of beers in the local when we got back and Craig cooked us all pasta carbonara.
A very lovely day. :D

Going into town today for a mooch and a bit of lunch.

90s Trivial Pursuit brain searching tonight.

Have a great day.

I've loved the weather over here. Its been almost always really nice..... but I'm preparing myself to be flying back home on Tuesday to heat from hell temps.

Morning Ally, morning everyone

Cool start this morning. This should be the last of our really hot days, hopefully back to more normal temperatures from tomorrow.

General pootling this morning, before it gets too hot, then head for the pool. Grumpy is still making those tables. He was moaning yesterday about the quality of the wood and it being different depths. But at least it is wood and it was free

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Morning you two, morning all

Heat, what is that? I looked at one of the many forecasts the other day and we're potentially looking at a drop in temperature again so night times are below 10 - that's just mad; with daytime temps not much higher than 20. I need warmth for the tomatoes to ripen - I've got more than enough darn green tomato chutney to last me years; I really don't want to be making more. Think I need to put a plastic cover over them now just to get the process sped up. So so frustrating

Anyhoo, that's my moan for the day ;-)

Glad you had a fab day yesterday Ally and are enjoying the cooler weather :D
Looking forward to seeing photos of the tables Jan; handy to have a Grumpy around. Enjoy the pool

I need to get myself ready - heading to London today for work and then meeting up with a friend this evening.

Have a lovely day all x

Boooooo about the weather :x It’s dreary here and the rain hasn’t even arrived yet - we have a yellow rainfall warning in place until tomorrow :( Michael and Kellie are here until about 11.30 and we are waiting our grocery delivery which is now late. I need to pop up to the shops later, chemist and post office. I’m knitting myself a poncho, so will do some of that.

Morning all :D

Nice and bright, but think rain's forecast for late afternoon.

We got a bit more done in the garden yesterday. E's getting all the Christmas stuff down from the loft this afternoon. Yes I know it's way too early, but he's not likely to be able to get up there nearer the time so we'll store it all in the spare bedroom. We both love all the festive decorations so even if we can't get out and about much at least we will be able to celebrate as we usually do.

Hope you all have a good day, stay safe xx

Afternoon everyone :)

I was out early to go shopping with D, we've had lunch and Mick has just got back from running B to work. The weather is rotten here too, pouring with rain, although I don't envy you those Spanish temps when you get home Al!

Ria I hope you can get your toms ripened xx

Let's hope it cools down soon for you Jan! xxx

*Waves to Osc and Jen*

Love to all :) xx

Good afternoon - absolutely lashing it down here, a veritable cloudburst with added thunder and lightning!

Currently doing battle with the car insurance people over paying our annual premium, which this year includes a licence check, so that means extracting a code from the DVLA. All good clean fun and I'm currently awaiting a call back from the brokers ....

Otherwise not a lot happening; it's been Baking Day so we've produced two trays of rock cakes. We have it down to a fine art now - 50 minutes from getting the ingredients out to taking them out of the oven.
Meriad, I fear we'll be having the same problem with our tomato crop; I suspect they'll all be green ones this year. So tomato and apple chutney beckons.

Have a good day, all!
