I'm assuming that's the annual price you've quoted and your Council don't do part-year reductions.
That's the case here - but then our fortnightly collections do go on December through to March (albeit with virtually a month's extended break over the Christmas period).

We have had our green bin emptied this morning. It is for garden and food waste. There is no charge for this.
It is emptied every two weeks.
We ave four bins which are emptied on a regular basis. We get a calender showing which bins are being emptied.
Very good system.

That's interesting Cruiser that you put food waste with your garden waste - I assume no meat / diary products though; only vegetable matter?

Vic, our bins are charged the council tax year, so April to end March and I pay £40 (I think), but same as most places you don't get it pro-rata if you join the scheme half way through. Garden waste is collected every 2nd week, with a break between Christmas and the 2nd week in January.

Brown bins are for garden waste in Leeds. The charge, about £35, is added to your council tax bill. They are emptied from March to November though you can request a collection in the quiet period if one is needed.

The rules are very strict and no food waste whatsoever, not even peelings, is allowed, and certainly no Japanese Knotweed, Himalayan Balsam, Ragwort, and Giant Hogweed. Oh, and you have to be on a dedicated brown bin round, if not it's a DIY trip to the tip.

Ours is 40-something, can't remember exactly, but I know it was 30-something originally. I pay it online by debit card when they send out the reminder. It goes from October to October, and as already mentioned you can't pay for part of a year if you join the scheme in between. Collection is fortnightly.
