Good morning Wednesday

Postby Ally » 25 Nov 2020, 05:38

Good morning.

Mild at 20 degrees and dry until forecast rain at 6pm. Hurrah. :D

Going for a run to end up at the hairdresser at 10am. How quickly these 4 week appointments come round.

Home to shower etc then walking into town to meet three friends for lunch at la plaza. It's Alicia's birthday so a cheeky cocktail or two will be had. :D
Looking forward to being ladies wot lunch.

The Repair Shop and MasterChef tonight. Bliss. :D

Have a great day.

Morning Ally, morning everyone

Hope the rain does arrive Ally, you certainly could do with it. And happy birthday to Alicia; enjoy those cocktails!
I love The Repair Shop :D in fact I have a very old wooden flour / grain scale that I'd love to enter; may just look into that and see what the process is

I've got a gas / electric engineer coming round today between 8 and 12 and having a smart meter installed. Lots of pros and cons for them I know but it's going to happen at some point so may as well do it now whilst I'm working from home and don't, at some point in the future, have to take a day off to have it installed. Usual work and pootling day otherwise.

Weather is dull and grey and drizzly today. Have to laugh though - the area where I have the chickens is just so wet because of all the rain. They have a fair size covered run but it's nice for them to have a bit more covered space so I bought a cheap plastic greenhouse. It'll take about a week for them to get used to it - they must be the most suspicious animals ever. They were so funny when I was putting it up yesterday afternoon and just wouldn't walk past it - I eventually had to grab them and put them into their run and lock them in

Have a lovely day all x

Morning Ally, Ria and everyone

Winter is here :Hi: Rain earlier and more forecast for the rest of the week :Hi: But cold

Off to do our version of ladies wot lunch later too  Taking Jan for a pre-birthday reflexology treat, then meeting the ladies in the Adega do Monte Velho in Ourique - secretly planned ;) Have had to contact Joquinha, secretly, to let him in on it, as he has today off and Jan wants him and Grumpy to meet us for lunch. The ladies vetoed it, so will meet Grumpy and Joquinha in the bar afterwards.

Mouth still a little tender after all the work yesterday, but no painkiller at 3.00 this morning, the first for a long time :D

Love the idea of the chickens being suspicious Ria

Have a great day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

I've sent him a WhatsApp Ria but he hasn't picked it up yet.

I hope we do get some rain but as I'm typing (just back from the hairdresser) the sun is splitting the trees.

Morning all :D

Dull and overcast.

Glad you didn't need painkillers this morning Jan xx

Good news, Canterbury Hospital phoned yesterday with an Orthotic appointment for E on 7 Dec. Not too long to wait, he has to take a good pair of shoes for them to adapt, not sure how long that takes, but it's good to know it's definitely happening. He's so lopsided, this should make a huge difference to his stability.

Did more than planned yesterday, all the decs are up and the house, inside at least, is festive and looks lovely. Today I'll be getting all the empty plastic storage boxes out into the garage. Oh and it's the dreaded put the bins out day, not looking forward to that, means numerous trips back and forth carrying out bundles of newspapers.

Hope you all have a good day xx

Good afternoon all.
The boiler has sprung a leak, but not a big one thank the Lord.
Good news for E Jen.
So far today it has been fairly foul, cold and damp but now the sun has just come out.
A loaf is rising in the bread maker and in a while we'll go and collect our prescriptions.
I hope Frank is recovering well.
Have a good day all.

Good afternoon all, it’s dried up now after a very wet morning.

John’s in a Teams meeting so I’m creeping around, not sure if my swearing was heard just though. I answered the door to the postman with a parcel for Tom, washed my hands, went back up two flights of stairs to the spare room to carry on putting away some chocolates which had come with the Tesco delivery for with presents (which was what I was doing before the doorbell interrupted me) only to have it ring again. It was the postman again with another parcel for Tom  Off I went to wash my hands again

Ria, I hope the meter installation goes well, we had to have two appointments as it was raining the first time and the installer could only do the electric one as the gas meter box is a bit more exposed to the elements and he couldn’t do the soldering in the rain.

Good news Jen!

Have a good day all :D

Afternoon all, it’s a beautiful sunny cold day here and we had a lovely walk along the two piers. I also popped up to the chemist to renew my prescription - it seems like no time since I did that last month. Bathrooms to clean at some stage, but first I’m going to have lunch.

Good afternoon everybody.

Decided to walk to town as I wanted to go to town. Needed some money from the bank and some shopping. At the bank the girl customer
at the next counter was getting a large amount of cash. Before the bank cashier would authorise it the girl had to answer some security questions.
Evidently she was going to use it to pay a builder. She said the bank could phone the builder to confirm the details. Shows the bank are making sure
customers are not being frauded.
Tried to buy some prunes for mrrs.e but not successful. Came home on the bus. Now just pootling. The sun is out and lovely blue sky.
Have a good d ay everybody.
